I asked God

I asked God for strength that I might achieve.
I was made weak that I might learn humbly to obey.
I asked for health that I might do greater things.
I was given infirmity that I might do better things.
I asked for riches that I might be happy.
I was given poverty that I might be wise.
I asked for power that I might have the praise of men.
I was given weakness that I might feel the need of God.
I asked for all things that I might enjoy life.
I was given life that I might enjoy all things.
I got nothing that I asked for, but everything I hoped for.
Almost despite myself, my unspoken prayers were answered.
I am, among all men, most richly blessed.

“To the wisdom of the perfect teacher, in Jesus was added the love of the perfect brother”

“No other one thing has ever been such a power for the moral transformation of life as the experience of falling in love with Jesus.” by James Bissett Pratt if memory serves.

Things I think of:

It’s easy to see the hand of God in history…words…words…how I love their complexities,,take the word “History” = “His Story”. Another neat thing; the word “HELP” = “HE LP”, LP = Record disc that played at speed 33.3, 33.3 = age, Jesus rose from the dead.

I see those kinds of things in simple words…I see hand of God in lots of ways most people do not. He tries communicating in lots of ways. -) You think about the word History…it truly is His Story. He is always trying to get us to think things through and understand that He is the “Je Suis” [Translation: “I AM”)

From my friend Elaine: James, love, my new house mate, and believe it when I say that I HAD TO MOVE NOW, my new house mate said today that it was “the Hand of God” that brought us together as roommates. And all is right with the world of Elaine and her silly iguana, Isabella, who will be re-united next Saturday upon Elaine’s move-in!! I see his handwriting all over my forty-eight years of life…

It is hard not to see it when you are truly open to it,,,,impossible to see if not!

From another friend:

Jerusalem, you shall not always weep Your crimson river flowing shall abate; The bitter tears you shed though rising deepAt last shall drown the searing flames of hate.   Jerusalem, you shall not always cry Your agony shall cease and peace shall reign Upon thee, Holy Land, and lift you highAbove the arid desert of…
