Don’t drink beer myself, however I like the message!
I have run into many people in my time on social media who let their problems, the world, various other things get them down. I would like to encourage you and tell you that no matter how bad it is, or it gets, Jesus is always there. He is the most approachable, understanding, caring, and humble person you will ever encounter. I heard one minister say, you can’t get to God, without going through His Son, who is the door. You can’t go above Jesus, because His name is higher than any other! You can’t go around Jesus, because His love is too broad, You can’t go under Jesus, because He is too humble. This is truly apropos.
There are numerous and various things in my life, that could, and would get me down, if I let them. However, by the grace of God and Jesus’ help, I do not. It is somewhat a matter of faith, and somewhat a matter of evidence. All I have to do is look at the things Jesus created around me in nature to see how much He loves us! Not only that, you look at the countenance of those that truly serve Him, His love is radiant all over their faces. Granted there are those with somewhat sour exteriors, however, they are also usually the grumblers and complainers.
If you are new to Jesus, do not think because you are not getting what you want, that he does not hear, or that he is ignoring you or doesn’t care.
Number one, God’s word says “seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these other things will be added unto you.” it also says that in Hebrews 11:
1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
2 For by it the elders obtained a good report.
3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.
4 By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.
5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.
Now pay special attention to verse 6 and the word diligently.
6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
7By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
8By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.
9By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:
10For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.
11Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.
Number two, you should not turn to Jesus, simply to get what you want. He responds when you turn to him, for what he died for. Your souls salvation, not to give you what you want, Jesus gives you what you need. That doesn’t mean if man does something adverse to you, that Jesus was responsible.
God gave man a free will, for those who do not understand (as I did not for a long time) why God lets bad things happen to good people or children. Remember God gave us all free will, we are all also sinners. If God were to condemn the person who kills, or commits some other heinous crime against someone. (i.e. someone who commits egregious sins), to death right away. Then He would also have to condemn the person who tells a little white lie.
Number three, if you put things in God’s hands, you cannot then be constantly fretting about it, worrying about it, and wondering in your heart if you did the right thing. This is putting things in God’s hands, with your stipulations or taking them back after having turned them over to Him. He’s smart enough to know, you never really put things in His hands at all.
Jesus is truly amazing, reliable, and caring as no one else. I am so close to Him, because I feel close to him in my heart, I know and believe for instance that Jesus, while I write this, He is right by my side, helping me with my thoughts, words, etc. If it weren’t for Him, His instruction, etc. I would not be able to write the things I do. You can ask anyone who really knows me. I’m not a man within myself, of many words, I do not talk small talk, I only speak at length when it is important. Then as you can see from some of my posts, I can be long winded. 😉 I am also not a real religious man, I do love Jesus though, I also do my best to serve Him and walk with Him.
If you decide or have decided to give Jesus a chance, know first of all, He has been giving you a chance your whole life. There is an old hymn, that is one of my favorites “He was there all the time, waiting patiently in line, He was there all the time” Jesus is the perfect gentleman, he will not force himself on you, nor will he condemn you when you fail, do wrong, etc. He will simply wait till you are done screwing up your life, and realize once again, that you need Him.
Beautiful! Rev. James Moore sings He Was There All The Time
So if you give Him a chance, truly give Him one. He deals with everyone in different ways, as I said, He gives you what you need. He will also test you, your faith, your determination. However, He will not lay something on you that you are not strong enough for, at times it will seem as though He does, He knows you though, far better than you, yourself do. He also said, “he that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved.”
There’s a country song by Garth Brooks Unanswered Prayers that says. “Some of God’s greatest gifts are unanswered prayers”, because God knew when the writer asked for something from God. God knew what the future held, had God granted his prayer, he would have missed out on the truly great blessing, God had planned for him down the road.
Jesus truly holds your world in the palm of His hands, it’s up to you, what He does with it, ignores it, waits patiently for you, or helps you in your world to truly have the happiness, peace, fulfillment, and love, only He can give!
