Memorials to Those We Love Online… My Twitter Quest

Masonic Memorial Friend to Friend

Love Has No Bounds…Friend to Friend Masonic Memorial

I started this quest on twitter to contact my old friends there, because I found two who had passed away over two years ago. I hadn’t known they passed away, because, I do not like to bother people who have unfollowed me, or who suddenly stop retweeting, or mentioning me, because I do not want them to feel threatened, put upon, or otherwise bothered by me, if I have done something to offend them or something…

After finding two that I had been quite close to, that had died, and I hadn’t known, because I didn’t want to be a bother…It broke my heart, that they may have died, thinking I did not care, or that I did not think of them, and remember the many times we had talked. It broke my heart, they may have passed, not knowing, I appreciated the short time I had gotten to know them, even though I had never met them in person, heard their voice, or seen their face. Still yet, I had gotten to know their hearts, and perhaps even more so, since I had never met them in any other context than their thoughts, and heart felt words..

It’s amazing, how close we can get to people who touch our hearts online, with their words, thoughts, and comments, made 140 characters at a time. I have found much grief, since I started this quest, a number of others have passed away. I find memorials on their twitter timelines, from their families, speaking about how those who died, had, had cancer, or some other disease that my twitter friends never spoke of, you never heard them complain, or speak of their conditions. They had gotten into twitter, and / or facebook because it helped take their minds off their pain, or sickness, talking to others, and socializing online, when they were too sick, or in too much pain, to get out among the public and mingle…I cannot bring myself to unfollow their inactive accounts. It somehow seems sacred, and a tribute to their having been. There is @STXherry whose account has been deleted, @14Kathi, @JimmyMcIver, @marknelza, @MsJeffDesigns, @PolarCoug, Bossy Monica aka @MrsDarcy119

Another who I did not know personally was pointed out to me by BOSSY Erin Cruz aka @WAGNERGIRLE is Jeff Hedgpeth aka @AlinskyDefeater God bless & Jesus keep him and his family also always…

Who knows how many others I haven’t reached yet. I will always follow them with my account, just as I will follow them some day, in death…God bless and Jesus keep them, and their families always… For the memories of those mentioned here see the end of this piece…

I know this, because I suffer from chronic back pain, from it being broken when I was a teenager, and me not finding out until I was in my 30’s, after it had so messed up the nerves in my spine. So that it was even painful, to be touched physically by others in any way. I was virtually unable to do anything, other than stand for short periods, sit for a little longer, or lay down flat on my back most of the time. It has gotten much better, since I started trusting only, and completely in the Lord to help me with it, and depending on Him to heal me of it.

I haven’t been completely healed, but it has become much more bearable, and I am able to get a decent nights sleep now. I don’t speak of it online, most do not know of this, none know how bad it is, or how bad it has been. I, like others, I have known, do not like to complain, we’d rather think of others, and try to help them with their pain, sickness, etc. They, like I, do not want sympathy, they want to be treated like everyone else, they want to love, laugh, and enjoy the life they have left. They do not want to waste it, thanking people for their sympathy, etc. They want to enjoy it, by thanking people for their friendship, the good times they enjoy, the conversations that make them, think not of themselves, but of others, and the enjoyments of life, the Lord, and His creation..

Perhaps, now, as I speak of this, I am now learning another reason, the Lord has allowed me to suffer in this condition I have dealt with most of my life, so that I could now write of it, and help others understand, what I understand, about others in my place, or their loved ones, who enjoy the time they have online with friends, friends who they have never seen, never heard their voice, nor ever seen their face, yet greater still, they have felt their hearts, touched their souls, and understood their spirits, as most people never get the chance too. This is what God gives to those, whose suffering, takes their minds elsewhere, instead of dwelling on themselves….

I am also, now able to help my dad, which means more to me than I can put into words, I love and respect my dad more than anyone else in this world. I really hadn’t expected a lot, or asked for a lot from the Lord, as far as helping me, just that I am able to bless, and help others. At least until I got married, and now, it is still more for her, than for me. She deserves nice things, and I need to be able to provide them, and to take care of her, my son, and the children. and grandchildren she brought with her into our marriage.

The Lord is good, He has helped me greatly since we got married. and I am able to do a lot more than I used to be able too. My faith is great, his work is greater, and I will get ever better with God’s grace and help.

I have shed many tears, and dealt with much grief for others, since beginning this quest, and perhaps this piece I am writing now, is where the Lord wanted it to take me. I know He guides each of my steps, my heart is His, and His love dwells there. I do not always let that love out, because far too many times still, I let myself get in the way, and fail to let Him flow through me.

I hope this gives some comfort to the many families, and people who have had to deal with the grief of losing their family members to some disease, or a sudden death, who have left a memorial to their loved ones on Facebook, Twitter, or some other social media site. Know that your family members experienced much more than you know, with their adventures online, socializing with others. Your loved ones were touched to their very core by the friends they made here, and those friendships, helped them greatly to face what they dealt with, that took them away from us, far too early, but made their time here much more pleasant and bearable, as they made their way over the horizon, that we someday will also find in the distance… They were touched, and they touched many others, their work here was complete..Know they enjoyed it greatly…

God bless and Jesus keep you and yours always, and know you are always thought of, and remembered with each breath we take….

Those mentioned before in our twitter family who have left the scene before us…We loved them all dearly and know we will meet them again, when once we follow our Savior home, as they also did…

STXherry
First STXherry, Sherry from Tx who we all grew to love…How poignant one of the tweets came from, and another mentions one of the others I named above…Jimmy McIver; who as I said, was not thinking of his own condition, his only thought was of Sherry’s…
JMcIverSTXherry

STXherryMcIver2

Sherry’s last tweet said much the same as many of us on twitter use, it wasn’t a goodbye, it was simple, often we know not when we will return to get back to people who mention us, we simply know that sometime we will. Her last tweet was such….

Stxherry-2013-03-24-at-2-05-45-am

14Kathi
Next we have #14Kathi a transplant to Ft Smith Arkansas from California, having family there and elsewhere in Ark. where my dad was born and raised I got to know Kathi and her younger sister @OttoDeb i.e. Deborah well.

Kathi’s last tweet was a Retweet of Jonah Goldberg’s Column 14 Mar 2014The Millennials get what they asked for.”

jimmy-mciver
Next there is Jimmy McIver, all I can say is… one of the best…A note from his granddaughters and another picture:
JimmyMcIver

JimmyMcIverGdaughtersLastTweet

Next we have Mark Nel from South Africa; his loving wife put a touching memorial and tribute to him here…

Then we have Ms. Jeff who always got a kick out of surprising those on twitter with her name..
MsJeff
Her son informed us on Jan, 14th of her passing on Jan. 4th 2014

“This is Ms. Jeff’s Son Justin, sorry to say my Mom Passed away January 4th. She went in peace and the family was there with her. I know my Mom loved her Twitter family, so I thought I would let you know she passed.” Her last tweet was posted June 16, 2013 it was typical of our good friends on twitter….”Happy Father’s Day to all my twitter Family Fathers. I hope your day was awesome. Good night hugs and Blessings to all. Sweet dreams.

Last but not least we have PolarCoug

PolarCoug

Who proclaims in his profile “I’m a cool conservative penguin. If you’re looking for a liberal penguin go find another iceberg.”

The last tweet on his account comes from his daughter who set up a gofundme account Dec 28, 2014 for donations to help with funeral costs….She explains there: “On Christmas Eve morning, PolarCoug was gloriously and joyously reunited with his mother and father, and was welcomed into Paradise with the embrace of our Savior. His passing was sudden and unexpected. And while our hearts are breaking, we also take comfort in knowing that he is finally free from the debilitating pain he had been experiencing for the past 7 years. While we will miss him terribly, I look forward to the day when our family is once again together – families are forever.

Due to his unexpected passing, we were financially unprepared for the costs associated with funeral arrangements. We are seeking donations to help cover these costs. Any assistance would be forever appreciated.”

Then we have Bossy Monica She added Bossy in front of her name as many of our friends did after some leftist so-called feminist complained about men calling female bosses “Bossy” Thereby making fun of those “feminists” in America who have nothing better to do than complain about things that matter little when all things are counted and life is done…God bless & Jesus keep her and her family always. Her family put a very poignant obituary and tribute to her and her twitter followers here…

So many good ones, we know such a short time, who make such a great impact on our lives. To be remembered is a thing I think we all desire in the end…that is what matters…

As I said I did not know Jeff Hedgpeth personally so I cannot say anything about him as a person..perhaps some of you who did could send me some comments I could make a compilation of to add here to his memory…

If I find anymore of our twitter friends and family gone on before us while I am on this quest….I will add them as I find them….

Lessons on Listening to the Lord, and Divine Appointments, or Providence

good-shepherd

DIVINE APPOINTMENTS.

“For He performeth the thing that is appointed for me.”—Job xxii. 14.

‘But He is in one mind, and who can turn Him ? and what His soul desireth, even that He doeth.” Job, in these words, declares the unchangeableness, all-sufficiency, and sovereignty of the Ruler of the universe; then, in the next verse, confirms this doctrine by his own experience: “For He performeth the thing that is appointed for me.” The experience of the people of God affords much evidence of the truth of Scripture doctrine, and ought to be noticed for this purpose. The Divine perfections were set forth in the experience of Job, hence the importance of making ourselves familiar with it, as left on record in the Scriptures. ~ [Note from me: This is a quote from “The Evangelical Register: A Magazine for Promoting the Spread of the Gospel” Published January 1838; I found when I did a cursory search of google books for Divine Appointments, just to add what someone else had said about them, who was most likely smarter than I…]

I shared this on Facebook two days ago, 5/21/2015. [Editorial notes in brackets]

Just a little note on how wonderful the Lord is, I was telling a longtime friend and others on his Facebook timeline yesterday about how I trust in the Lord Jesus to guide me in all things. I ask when I pray that Jesus guide my thoughts, my words, my steps, everything. I then believe that He will, and does do, exactly that. Belief IS a Very Big part of it, I then go happily about my business, etc. everyday, never doubting that He does exactly that, I do not worry, I take it as it comes, and do not fret. He gives me the unction to go, do, and say, whatever it is, I need to do in everything. Another BIG Part is, I do my best to do what I know is right, and I constantly question myself, and sometimes Him, as to whether I am doing, what is pleasing to Him. I usually know, or He always lets me know, in my heart and spirit, what is right, and what He would have me do, that is pleasing to Him, because as I have told many of those close to me, that is TRULY, my one, and only desire, to please the Lord Jesus Christ, and God His Father…

Anyway, to get back to what happened earlier, I and one of my buddies I’ve known since kindergarten, were going over to my step-daughter’s apartment, to check out a problem she was having with her car, so we could fix it…to make a long story short…I had told her last week, I would replace something of hers I threw away, and, I had also been on the look out, and had told my mom to be on the look out for a bed. for Amy’s oldest son who is 5 or 6. I stopped at wally world to get what I was replacing, and instead of going to the checkout line I was 1st going to, I went a couple of registers down, just cause I got that feeling too, i.e. that still small voice that I do my best to listen to. For the 1st time the lady who was the checker, asked me if I wanted to donate to the Children’s Miracle Network, instead of just hitting the keys to skip through that part of the checkout process, as most of the other checkers do. It just so happened, I figured Amy, was using the foam I threw away for her oldest son to sleep on, and since I was replacing it. And I must say, I normally would NEVER be so talkative, and chatty, as I was with this lady, as I hardly ever talk much, especially with people I do not know. I’ll sit here, and type a lot and say a lot of things, but I only do so, because, I feel I have something important to share. I am NEVER one for Small Talk, I only speak, as I said, when I have something important to say…

When the checkout lady asked me if I wanted  to donate. I put my hand on top of the box, the foam was in, and told her “not today, I am already donating to a child with this.” I then went on, to tell her the whole story, and the circumstance, behind me throwing away the old foam, etc., and how I was looking for a bed for Dominic, the oldest son, as I had just gotten a mattress, to go with the youngest sons bed, she [the checker] asked me “How old is this child” I told her how old he is, she asked me if he could sleep on a twin bed, I told her sure. She then told me she had a twin bed, she would give to me for free, almost new, complete and even more it is a Captain’s bed they paid $2400.00 for..if you do not know a Captain’s bed is one of those pedestal beds with drawers in the pedestal so it also gives you a place to put the child’s clothes…On top of all this the woman lives in the same town as Amy and the woman gave me her number and told me all I had to do was call and come pick it up, no charge, no fuss, no muss…

The Bed

The Bed

This is what the Lord does, He is wonderful, His loving kindness never fails and He is forever mindful of His children…My mind is also always on Him…All you have to do is obey, trust and believe. However, you have to TRULY be sincere, and as the Bible says, He measures your heart, so He knows whether you are for real, or whether it is just games, to game Him.

One of my favorite scriptures is “Bless the Lord O’ my soul and ALL That Is Within me, Bless His Holy Name”….Amen

My step-daughter replied “I thought you were joking. Omg! So excited now! He’s gonna light up like a Christmas tree. Allow me to thank her.” In response to this, I replied; “I will tell her you want to thank her, and give her your number when we pick it up, she said she is normally at work, so it might be a day or two, and I also need to get with dad, or someone who has a truck big enough for it to fit in..

My longtime friend who I had tagged in my first post when I had mentioned about me posting on his timeline replied to me; “Pro. 3:6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” I then replied to him; “Amen Bro [name withheld] Bless His Holy Name!”

This friend was from my church growing up and we always call each other brother and sister when we address each other, even the pastor or other ministers, they are simply “Brother” and then their name. No titles, no idol worship, none of the sort of thing that places one above another. We have but one who is above us, that is Christ, and the one above Him is God His Father. For it is written; Man is the head of Woman, Christ is the head of Man, and God is the head of Christ. One man is not above another man, their is only one above each man, that one being the King of kings.

My step-daughter then said; “I’ve been wanting one of those beds exactly! That’s so crazy. I’ve looked at a few online but knew I’d have to settle for something else. They’re also called trundle beds. I can’t believe he’s getting one!” In response I said; “Yes, he is getting one, see what I, and your mother have been trying to make you understand? The Lord IS, Truly wonderful, and ever mindful of us, all we have to do is trust and believe, however, sometimes, He expects us to be obedient too. I can Never, leave that part out, because I do not want anyone, to think they can do whatever they want, and the Lord will continue to bless them. He is long suffering, but He will eventually, ask something of us, he does this through our hearts and conscience.” She responded to this by saying; “I follow my heart always but am just a sinner as u. Thank you so much Rob. Can we get it today!!!! Lol. Jk. I’ll try to figure something out.” My response then was; “Yes, we are ALL sinners, I believe that is one of the ways we grow to trust God, because we HAVE to turn to Him for forgiveness. The wisdom of the Lord is amazing, and there is a great reason for EVERYTHING He does, everything He commands, and in all of the things He set up when He created the world, mother nature, and the way things are, including the way He set it up for us to be saved. It truly IS amazing, the wisdom of the Lord, and we only understand a minute particle of it, His wisdom is ALSO spread among those who seek it. He never gives anyone a complete understanding, except maybe Jesus. In this way, He makes it so that we need each other, He gives each of us who seek Him, something that is special to them, in this way we will learn from each other, and grow to depend on each other. He did this also, when He began, what we now call civilization. God’s wisdom is astounding, and greater than any of us will ever understand, until we are with Him, and He reveals all. He truly is amazing…”

My step-daughter then replied; ” I can’t believe it happened that way. My mom knew I wanted one of those. You don’t know how unbelievable that is to me.” In response to this, I responded thus; “Ahh, what’s so hard to believe?, to tell you a little more. I had no idea you wanted that kind of bed for him, and as I said, and you probably know since you lived with us for a while. I never talk small talk, I almost never talk at all, unless it is something that is bothering me, or that I feel I need to say. You can believe it, because that is exactly the way it happened, and you should know by now, that I also would never knowingly lie… The Lord is just that way, He will guide us in all things, if we put our complete trust and faith in Him..” She responded by saying; “Well he obviously knows my children are my first priority. Very thankful.” I then said to her; “Any of us who are worth our salt, our children are always our first priority. It is the same with the Lord, this is also something I tried to make you understand last weekend, when you were at our house. You ARE special to Him, more special than others ,or the one we were speaking of, because YOU ARE HIS CHILD! You have been since your birth, reminds me of a song Mark Leniger used to sing that I have always loved….”When He was on the Cross….I was on His mind” I then went on to say, “You,  were On His Mind….aww now I am tearing up….when I think of the goodness of the Lord, it always brings tears to my eyes and stains my cheeks..now I am unable to think or speak…His goodness overwhelms me…

She responded by saying; “Well u know I believe he loves us all the same but if you’re right I’d kindly ask him to.” I then said to her; “He does love us all….He just loves his children more….even the Bible talks about how the sons of God married the daughters of men…..not all of us are children of God, we all have the capacity to be the children of God, some however choose not to be, and choose to be of the world. We are to separate ourselves from the world….” I then added, “BTW, you do not have that choice, You will always be His ,because of the way you are rooted and grounded in Him, you would have to do something extremely egregious, for Him to discard you or let you go….”

I then commented to it all and said: “Oh how I love the Lord and oh how wonderful He is if we only let Him….” I then added; “So very often we fail to receive something wonderful just because we didn’t put our complete trust and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ….”

I then wrote the following today, 5/23/2015, after another Divine Encounter, or as another author has written a “God Winks”, also known as miracles, and I know as following the voice of the Lord…

Follow up on how wonderful the Lord is…

First off a little about me…I believe the Lord leads me in all things, everything I think, do, say, every situation I am in there is a reason for it. He talks to me through others, as well as myself…There’s also a reason for every season, and as the Bible says a season for all things…

I’ve told the Lord many times, “I want His thoughts to be my thoughts, my words to be His words, my feelings to be His feelings, my actions to be His actions, my work to be His work, I want to see things as He sees them, I want my emotions to be His emotions, everything of Him, I want nothing of me and all of me to be one with Him.”

When I grew up in church, emphasis was put on the spiritual things, following the Spirit, watching the Spirit, etc. Worshiping the Creator, and Not the Creation, as the Bible tells us to. However, I think, far too many people, and ministers get so caught up in the Spiritual, and denying the Natural, they fail to see the correlation between the Natural, and the Spiritual, or the Terrestrial and Celestial…

God, who is all wise, created all things, and since man sees with the Natural eye, as well as the Spiritual eye. God put us in the Natural World, to help us learn of the Spiritual World. This is how the Founders, [i.e. Washington, Jefferson, Adams, Madison, Quincy, Morse, etc.] or Founding Fathers, as they are called, understood things about God, most people today do not see. They understood the divine laws, because they understood the natural laws. They learned of God through nature, through observation of what the natural world contained, and what took place in the natural world. Our whole existence in this life, is about learning…

This is one of the reasons, I say, there was more of God’s wisdom contained in that group of men, than any group of men before or after them, who have ever been in government. They had very uncommon, common sense, and they knew how to understand the way God works, through their observations of nature this was because of their knowledge of nature and their dependence on the Lord Jesus Christ, their understanding of scripture, which they had only had access to for a couple of centuries, during what was called the enlightenment, after many, many more centuries of the Dark Ages..

This is the reason Thomas Jefferson said; “The evidence of this natural right, like that of our right to life, liberty, the use of our faculties, the pursuit of happiness, is not left to the feeble and sophistical investigations of reason, but is impressed on the sense of every man. We do not claim these [Rights] under the charters of kings or legislators, but under the King of kings [Jesus Christ]. If he has made it a law in the nature of man to pursue his own happiness, he has left him free in the choice of place as well as mode; and we may safely call on the whole body of English jurists [lawyers] to produce the map on which Nature has traced, for each individual, the geographical line which she forbids him to cross in pursuit of happiness. It certainly does not exist in his mind. Where, then, is it? I believe, too, I might safely affirm, that there is not another nation, civilized or savage, which has ever denied this natural right. I doubt if there is another which refuses its exercise. I know it is allowed in some of the most respectable countries of continental Europe, nor have I ever heard of one in which it was not. How it is among our savage neighbors, who have no law but that of Nature, we all know. Though long estranged from legal reading and reasoning, and little familiar with the decisions of particular judges, I have considered that respecting the obligation of the common law in this country as a very plain one, and merely a question of document. If we are under that law, the document which made us so can surely be produced; and as far as this can be produced, so far we are subject to it, and farther we are not.”

This was all part of God’s plan, the US of A was, and is, all part of God’s plan, where He began it as a Christian Nation, based on the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and the Word of God. He then brought people from every nation to make up that coat of Joseph’s, the coat of many colors, that is another story in itself. (Just said it to plant another seed) There is a reason the Lord has so greatly blessed America.

Many more people see only with the Natural eye, than people who see with the Spiritual eye, and far fewer see with both the Natural, and the Spiritual eye to have a much greater understanding of God the Father, Christ Jesus the Son, and the ways of God. I believe there are no coincidences in ANYTHING!

Everything that happens, every situation, absolutely everything, there is a reason for it, especially if you are trying to serve, listen, and do what the Lord would have you do, with all that is within you, and love the Lord with all your heart, mind and strength. Whether it be the Lord speaking to you about something, teaching you something, helping you with something, giving you something to share with others (as I am doing here) or perhaps there are many reasons for any given situation, happening, etc.

Perhaps the Lord is even trying to work on your patience, or your spirit, i.e. if you have anger issues, He may give you a friend that brings out that anger, so that you have to try to work on it, because of your love for your friend, it could even be a family member, someone in church, anyone, or any circumstance. I just use anger issues as an example, because it could literally be, ANYTHING the Lord is trying to teach you, get through to you, give to you, etc., etc., etc. It is up to each individual to listen, learn, and do their best to listen to what the Spirit is trying to tell them, the Lord is trying to work out in them, or work out through them.

The possibilities are endless, and innumerable, just as the Lord is, just as He makes the possibilities in us, and for us, they are endless, innumerable and immeasurable. Just as His loving kindness, care, His help, the miracles He can perform, the deeds He can be in, He is TRULY immeasurable. That’s why it is all about trust, obedience and faith.

My mother used to tell me something that happened to me, that I felt was the Lord, or even that I wondered to her about….she’d say, “oh that’s just coincidence.” I learned when I finally started listening to, and understanding the Lord, as He talked to me, and worked on, or through me, there ARE NO Coincidences, at least, not in my life. I have shown her how the Lord works through me so many times, she does not tell me it’s coincidence any more…

There is a reason, for everything that has ever happened to me, even if I cannot see it at the time, or even if I never see it while I am here, there is absolutely a reason for everything. Even the bad things that have happened to me throughout my life, have gone into the making of who I am right now, and who I am as a person.

The fact I grew up in the country, i.e. away from any town, which I didn’t like as a teenager, cause I wanted to be where things were happening. The Lord Jesus Christ was in it, and knew what He was doing. Now, I am so very thankful I grew up in the country, because I learned so much more, than others I know, who didn’t. I learned to appreciate nature, everything in the natural world, that teaches me, so much more about the spiritual world, than those who do not grow up with an appreciation of all things God created.

Who knows, I may be one of a kind, I do not know, because I have always had an affection for God’s creatures, as well as His creation. To be honest I have a hard time killing anything, I have gotten much better about that as I have gotten older, but for awhile, I would even have a hard time killing a fly, or some pesty bug. I believe the Lord caused this, so I would have an appreciation for all life, no matter what it was. [As a side note, it kills me, even when I hit sparrows that fly in front of my vehicle. This happened a few times in quick succession when I was driving to town a number of years ago, I still haven’t figured out if the Lord was telling me it is okay to kill in certain instances, for food for instance, or whether He was telling me to slow down my driving, or perhaps He was telling me at the time, how much more important to Him, I was, and am, than the sparrow, because His Holy scriptures talk about how much He cares for the sparrow. Perhaps it is all three, then again, I remember I was having a hard time then with a few things, so it may be the latter, which as I tell about it here it seems the voice of  the Lord is telling me is true.]

I must say, with the way some humans are / were I have experienced, I will admit it took me much longer, to care about humanity, than it did for me to care about the animal kingdom, just to be honest. The Lord has worked on me about humanity, probably longer than anything, and the ways in which He has accomplished that, are vast, and innumerable.

Now I am telling you all this, just to give you some insight, into how vast the workings of God, and the Lord Jesus Christ are. They are absolutely, in everything, and in every situation, they know how to talk to each individual, in ways that individual can understand, if that individual will just listen.

As I have said before it is His Story, it isn’t just History, all the world{s} all of time, all of everything, it is His Story, and we are all a part of it. He cares about us all…

His love for us is immeasurable, the pleasure He takes from our love, from our lives is immeasurable, why do you think, God sent the first of His Creation, to dwell among us, and to show us how to live, how to trust, how to have faith, how to forgive, how to do everything. Jesus was with God from the beginning, He is the Wisdom it speaks about in Proverbs 8, Jesus is the angel of the Lord in the Old Testament, Jesus is the Lord, David speaks of when he said “the Lord said unto MY Lord” Jesus was, and is, David’s Lord. This is the reason Jesus told the Jews they had read about Him their whole lives, and yet they didn’t know Him.

What a tragedy for them, and what a wonderful gift for the rest of us, Again showing, just how God cares for all of us, and how the love of Christ Jesus was so immeasurable, that He willingly came to dwell among us, and willingly drank the cup that put all the sins of the world on His shoulders, and that He suffered such shame for, that it caused Him to say…..”My God, My God, why have you forsaken me?”

He, Jesus who had never suffered, the shame of sin Himself, in all of His existence, not until that time on the cross, and in His death, He suffered all the shame that each of us has caused ourselves, and others, including Him. Yet He loved us so much that He also said…”Father Forgive them, for the know not what they do”

Jesus had seen humanity, He had experienced it, as God Himself never could, because God is God and He will always be omnipotent. He is life and in Him there can be no death. This is the reason God in His love, sent Jesus His only Son, to dwell among us, and to live, even as we live, to have to overcome the Adamic nature, i.e. the nature of man, so that He, could not only intercede for us with the Father, but also, so He could learn what it was like, show it could be done, that we could live without sin, and how to help each of us through every situation, all of our weaknesses, all of our trials, all of our temptations, through everything,

He learned about humanity by suffering EVERYTHING Humanity suffers. And it was through His suffering, that in God’s Word it says, that He learned obedience, through the things He suffered. So even Jesus was given the ability to be disobedient, so that He could learn how to succor us, and to be patient and long suffering with us even in our disobedience. You can see this, by the difference between the Old Testament and the New, just in how much Mercy, God has shown to humanity since Jesus came, and gave His life so that we may live.

God in His wisdom did all of this, and it was all for a reason, and you know what that reason was, and is? It is simple really, it is because of His love, for each and every one of us.

Jesus said it Himself, when they asked Him what the Greatest commandment was, and He told them, “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”

I will tell you of the wisdom of the Founding Fathers, it is shown in the foundation documents of America. Just as God put things in the order of importance in His commandments. So too did He cause men to put things in order of importance in our foundation documents, these are part of the Foundation Truths I share on my website here…http://captainjamesdavis.net]

And again in the Word it is written “For God so loved the world, He gave His only begotten Son that whosoever believeth on Him should not perish, but have ever lasting life.”

And again, “For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath NOT believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.”

This is why I say “the Fear of the Lord is not one of retribution, but it is one of loss,” i.e. the pure fear of losing Him, Not of the impure fear of retribution””. The Word says the “Beginning of Wisdom is the fear of the Lord” That wisdom is one of loss, not one of retribution..

I will have to finish this later, know that I haven’t even begun yet to tell of the happening today, that caused me to write at the beginning of this “Follow up on how wonderful the Lord is…” that follow up being an addition to what I wrote day before yesterday 5/21/2015 on how wonderful the Lord is when I mentioned Bro [name withheld] and my step-daughter, there is much more to this that I will be adding, and posting publicly to my website….

Follow up on how wonderful the Lord is…

The Follow-Up; Because it is the weekend and my step-daughters muscular boyfriend was coming to her house and taking her on a date, this boy I have also known since he was a child, I called the wally world checker I spoke of on 05/21/2015, to set up a time today (the 23rd) to pick up the bed from her house while he was in town so that I didn’t have to do the lifting myself, because of my broken back. I didn’t reach her by calling twice and she didn’t return my two voicemails I left last night and this morning. I had some things to do in town this morning, including showing my step-daughter and her boyfriend how to get to my buddies house to pick up her car, he had fixed for me. As a last minute decision as I was walking out the door, I decided after showing them the way I would go by wally world just in case she was at work, so I could see about picking it up while the boyfriend was in town, I had already arranged with my dad to use his truck.

Therefore after going to my buddies house and getting the keys to her car for them, I went to wally world, they were supposed to meet me there in case our good Samaritan was there who was giving me the bed for the grandson. They had to go to another place after picking up her car, before meeting me there.

I went ahead and went to wally world, I entered on the end of the store I had encountered her in the first place, not knowing for sure I would recognize her, but trusting in the Lord that I would. I went down the aisle in the front of the store between the little shops in the front of wal-mart and the checkout aisles looking at the checkers. I saw a couple of ladies I thought might be the checker I had spoken with on the 21st, but didn’t think they were, I was then coming up to the entrance on the other end of the store and I happened to look at the subway which was the shop on that end of the store, right by where you enter or exit, and I saw a woman eating there, right by the walkway in the front of the store, I felt it was her, so I turned in her direction, about the same time she saw me coming. I walked up to her and said; “Didn’t I talk to you about a bed the other day?” She, in her calm sort of way nodded, and said “Yes.”

I then explained I had tried to call her and asked her what would be a good time for her, for me to pick up the bed. To make a longer story shorter, while we were speaking I noticed on the iphone she had set on the table, she was reading something about God, I started to ask her what she was reading and if it was scripture, and before I could ask her about it being scripture, she told me it was something with “politics” in the title. I cannot remember what the rest of the title was. I then asked her if it was old or new, because I do not usually read books written after the early 1900’s. Because she mentioned it was about politics as well as God, I told her she should visit my website and told hear the web address. I then told her she should see what I had written on facebook about our encounter, she said “You know that was a Divine appointment, don’t you?” I told her “Oh yes!” and then explained to her about how I had started for another checkout aisle and how the voice of the Lord had directed me to hers, I had no idea why the Lord directed me there, I was just following the Spirit, i.e. the voice of the Lord.

I then asked her where she went to church, she told me Tulsa, I said oh really, we go to church in Owasso, she asked me what kind of church I went to, I told her a non-denominational church, she nodded in her calm way and said “that is the only kind [to attend]” I said yes, and she started telling me about the pastor at her church and how there weren’t a lot of attendees, but how the Lord was there, I told her I understood, that there are not a lot of people who attend ours either, but that we believed in being filled with the Holy Ghost, speaking in other tongues and that we can overcome sin. I then told her we needed to attend each others churches, she agreed and gave me her husbands phone number because he is able to answer his. She had told me as I said on the 21st about her being hard to contact because she worked at wal-mart and they make employees turn off cell phones, and when I explained to her today about calling her, she told me how she forgets to turn it on when she gets home.

ANOTHER DIVINE APPOINTMENT TODAY THE 23RD

After leaving wally world I went about my business, before I tell you what happened next, let me first give you a little background. My wife has asked me to find another TV for the house, I went online yesterday, the 22nd and found one refurbished for a little less than $200, after she got home from work she asked me what I had found. I told her about the television and she asked me where it was, I told her amazon. She said we’d have to wait for it to be delivered and told me to “go to some pawn shops tomorrow [today the 23rd] and get a cheap one” and gave me $100 to accomplish it. After leaving wally world I stopped at the first one I came to on main street. I noticed as I pulled into the parking lot it looked like they had a new rocking horse setting out front. I had recently been looking at old ricking horse designs, because I wanted to make one for the grandchildren, that had more the action of a real horse, than the ones they make now. Since the one they had sitting in front of the shop looked almost new, after looking at it and walking by the televisions as I came into the shop, giving a cursory purview of the the tv’s and the prices on them,

I walked up to the lady at the counter and queried the price of the rocking horse sitting in front. She said “50 bucks” I said; “hmm, those grandkids sure like the real horsies out where I live, I was wanting to get me some tools, however, it’s hard to pass on the horsy, for the grandkids.” I then told her I was looking for a tv, she said something about a 3D one she had, I asked her how much, she quoted me a price of almost $300, I told her I only wanted to spend about $100, long story short I bought the tv and the rocking horse. She took the tv to the car I was driving, I took the rocking horse, I set the rocking horse down beside the car while I unlocked it for her to put the tv in the back seat.

I started to put the horsy in the back seat to and felt no, I’ll call the step-daughter and see if they are still in town, no answer, I call the boyfriend, no answer. I call my stepson who went with my stepdaughter, he answers. I tell him about the horsy, ask where they are, and tell him if they want to come back they can get the horsy and take it home for the grandkids.

While I was leaning against the car watching for them to come along, a truck with a young lady and young man put up behind and to the side of my car. The young woman gets out of the truck, long story short, she told me they were moving, had a washer and dryer to sell, wondered if I was interested, I told them I had just bought new ones the day before, I told them I may know someone. They also had some toys, I told them maybe the toys also but the kids had all kinds. I then called my stepdaughter again, because I knew she needed a washer and dryer, told her how much they wanted, asked if she’d be interested, she was, so I let them know she’d be there before long. Long story short, the Lord used me to solve a number of problems for my stepdaughter, and also gave me an opportunity to teach her, my other stepchildren, and many others, some very valuable lessons.

This again is how wonderful the Lord is and is also why I am sharing with you here, just one of my daily experiences on Listening to the Lord….Looking forward to many more Divine Encounters and Appointments with others who love and follow the Lord. God bless, and Jesus keep you and yours always!

I And My Father Are One; As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father

My Father and I are One

“I and my Father are One”

I spent a bit of time this last week having some Bible discussions in the hospital, one particular case was where I was talking to an RN and she talked about the Trinity and how she believes the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost are all Three the same being, or entity. This always amazed me the Trinity people vs the Oneness people because they essentially believe the same, yet according to most of them, they would argue they believe the opposite. Now whether you believe all three are one or whether you believe one is all three, the arguments are cutting the hairs pretty thinly.

The way I believe and most people I’ve ever been in church with believe the simple truth with Jesus himself admonished people not to get away from the simplicity that is in Christ Jesus. The Bible plainly says there are two in the Godhead. God the Father and Christ Jesus the Son. The Holy Ghost is the Life, Spirit and Love of the Father that Christ Jesus must baptize everyone with for them to be born-again. Born-again, given a new life, given a new spirit and thereby given a new love that comes from the Father, through the Son. No one cometh to the Father, but by me.

The Bible plainly says: God is the head of Christ, Christ is the head of man, and man is the head of the woman. Putting aside mane being the head of the woman for the point of this piece I am writing. God i.e. the Father, being the head of Christ Jesus the Son. Christ Jesus the Son being the head of man. That puts two in the Godhead, not three, man is not a god, nor is man the Prince of Peace, nor is man the Everlasting Father, Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God!

In another example it talks of the woman following the man as the man follows Christ Jesus’ example, words, etc. When it talks of I and my Father being “One”, that is speaking of heart, mind, ability, nature, spirit, love, work, etc.

For example; My mother and father have two children, my brother and I. My brother, he has mainly the characteristics of our mother, they do not take anything from anyone, and will jump right back at anyone who dares cross them or those they care for. I on the other hand have more of the characteristics of our father, we are more forgiving, laid back and yielding. My father has done HVAC work practically his whole life, he had a large HVAC business in the Tulsa / Broken Arrow area for many years. Our parents because of the distance from where we live, mom being secretary / bookkeeper of the business for dad, took my brother and I out of public school when I, myself was twelve years old. My brother and I went to work part time for dad and they enrolled us in homeschool so that we could  also do our studies and fulfill their obligations to educate us.

My brother disliked HVAC immensely and eventually he parted ways with the business and finally found his calling as a heavy equipment operator and quarry man.

Personally, I loved working for my father, and I have spent most of my life doing the same work as he. This is not the only area though where “I and my Father are One” You watch our actions in Church for instance, the way we move, clap, and countless other things, the sound of our voices as we sing, you can easily mistake my voice for his. Again; “I and my Father are One” There are many other character traits, actions, words, ideals, the way we see various and numerous things, issues, etc. Again; “I and my Father are One”

You get to know the times and various other things concerning our sleeping habits. Again; “I and my Father are One”

You get to know our wives, even our wives are one like the other in countless ways. Again; “I and my Father are one”  You get to know us by our demeanor, our silences, our utterings, our attentions. Again; “I and my Father are One”. You look even at the type of television shows, sports, etc. we watch. Again; “I and my Father are One”

No, my Father and I are not the same person, nor are we exactly alike in every aspect of our thinking, hearts, minds, lives. There are many small, insignificant and minor differences between my Father and I. However, in every point that counts, that goes to make up a mans character, sense of duty, motivations that drive us, our passions, etc. Yes! I and my Father are indeed “One”!

When it’s ALL about YOU!?!

John Locke Quote Concerning the Holy Bible

John Locke Concerning the Holy Bible

Something I shared in a number of posts on Facebook, I think I should share with everyone…

When it comes to problems, some people need to grow up, stop blaming others, and look in the mirror.

The world, your parents, or others don’t owe you anything. As Mark Twain said of the world, it was here first….You should learn to appreciate and be grateful for what you DO get.

It’s outrageous the way some think only of themselves and never consider others, what others have done for them, or how they have had to do without themselves to do what they’ve done for you.

Quit crying, grow up and know most of your problems in life were created by YOUR choices, YOUR ideals, and YOUR actions.

And after you do all that. get down on your knees and THANK God that He has blessed you all He has, because He NEVER gives us what we deserve, only… as someone else said, “what we can handle.”

And ALWAYS remember, “To whom much is given, much is expected!”

Also Thank God for the little good that is in any of us, because it is only by His grace that ANY of us are ANY good what-so-ever.

Who remembers when an exclamation of surprise was “Well, bless my soul” instead of something that contained profanity.

We would all do well to practice those things that our parents and grandparents understood, words do matter and you will be judged for every one you speak…

And remember to always consider what you are teaching your little children with your words. Because between the ages of 10-30 you will be able to teach them little, unless they are a rare child indeed. (These days anyway)

“The self-absorbed person does not know how to deal with members of society. This is why he / she is…displeased with anyone and anything around him / her.” ~ Shenouda III

Song was just brought to my mind. “Learning to lean and depend on Jesus, for he’s my friend, and he’s my guide…” He gave / gives so much for / to each of us. None of us should ever have reason to complain about anything…

As He has shown me in my life, everyone else will fail you, in some way, at some point, you will EVEN fail yourself.

Only He knows, understands and is truly able to help in anything concerning you.

I spent years feeling bad because I didn’t have hardly any TRUE friends, then I began to understand the ONLY friend I really need is Him. Then all the fussing, fretting, worry, strife, etc. disappeared.

“There are plenty of people even more friendless than you; in fact everybody is glad to meet a friendly person, but they have no use for a self-absorbed person. What you need is less egotism but more self-confidence, and to regard yourself less as a claimant for sympathy than as a bestower of it to those who need it. You can step forthwith into a new sphere of life if you will but regard yourself as one of the helpers instead of one of the victims. There is always somebody worse off than you are.” ~ The Theosophical Path: Illustrated Monthly …, Volume 4 edited by Katherine Augusta Westcott Tingley

Something else to remember…

When you are talking about others…God is also speaking about you, to you.

This as an older minister I admire told me when I told him it was happening to me…he told me this is wisdom speaking to me…

You should see how your words about others, or in general, also apply and/or applies to you. I will give you a hint, they usually have an application to apply to you, yourself.

God will give you what you truly want at times, at least that which is truly in your heart,

So if you don’t like what is taking place in your life, search out your heart and learn what is truly contained there.

In other words, be careful what you wish for, and out of the abundance of his heart, a man / person speaketh.

If you’re always looking for perfection in men or others in the present or the past, you will never find any good in anyone.

There is only one who was truly perfect and we can still find Him today at the same place He occupied some 2000 years ago, On the Cross, at the foot of the Cross.

This is the only place you will ever find true happiness in this life, the only happiness that will ever matter.

A SISTER’S LOVE

brothersisterA SISTER’S LOVE

There is no purer feeling kindled upon the altar of human affection, than a sister’s pure, uncontaminated love for her brother. It is unlike all other affection; so disconnected with selfish sensuality; so feminine in its development, so dignified, and yet withal, so fond, so devoted. Nothing can alter it, nothing can suppress it. The world may revolve, and its revolution effect changes in the fortunes, in the character, and in the disposition of her brother; yet if he wants, whose hand will so readily stretch out to supply him as a sister’s? And if his character is maligned, whose voice will so readily swell in his advocacy? Next to a mother’s unquenchable love, a sister’s is pre-eminent. It rests so exclusively on the tie of consanguinity for its sustenance; it is so wholly divested of passion, and springs from such a deep recess in the human bosom, that when a sister once fondly and deeply regards her brother, that affection is blended with her existence, and the lamp that nourishes it expires only with that existence. In all the annals of crime, it is considered anomalous to find the hand of a sister raised in anger against her brother, or her heart nurturing the seeds of hatred, envy, or revenge in regard to that brother. ~ The Ladies’ Repository, Volume 26

A New Perspective: Being a Witness for Jesus, What is My Testimony Worth?

The ChristianPatriot1Peter5

Indeed, what does my testimony actually profit Him?

I saw a sign at a church a couple weeks ago and it said “We are called to be witnesses, not judges” of course I knew what they meant by this, is to be a witness for Jesus without judging the people you should be witnessing too.

However, my mind and heart would not let it go with that, and I kept mulling it over in the back of my mind. This will tell you a little about how long it takes for me to think through something, and get what the Lord is trying to give me, or make me see, I am somewhat slow and methodical.

I’ve always felt that Christians would judge the world, not by judging others because you think yourself above them, or in fact one day, may actually be above others. Like some who think they will sit with Jesus, in judgment of the world after being taken away to be with Him. I felt that you would judge the world, by the life you live and by overcoming yourself in this life, just as the followers of Jesus did in the Early Reign Church, i.e. New Testament Bible times, and the Bible tells us we have too.

I was again thinking about the words on that sign, as my wife and I were passing by that same church in town today. After we got to the store, it hit me. A new look at it I had never considered before. This is a combination of many thoughts and truths I have had throughout my life, now given a new perspective. Looking at it in a courtroom setting…

God, He is the Judge of the earth. and all that is therein, the earth is the courtroom, God calls us to be a witness for His Son, who being innocent, yet was found guilty, and hung on the cross among thieves. We are being witnesses for Jesus, that He was, and is, indeed the Christ, and therefore innocent of the charges leveled against Him at the time of His death.

This being the case, and looking at myself as a lawyer would, it caused me to ask myself first this question. Is my testimony as a witness advancing the cause of Jesus, during this trial we call life?

Secondly, Is my testimony witnessing to His transformational power as a Savior, to His loyalty as the very best friend, to His might as a warrior for His people, to His tenderness as a Father, to His mercy as a Lord, to His peace as the giver of peace, to His majesty as the King of all Kings, to His light that expels all darkness, to His wisdom that goes beyond understanding, to His guidance as a Teacher, to His love as a perfect brother, and to His knowledge as the Master of Humanity?

I’ll have to say, I fall short, and I hope to one day truly proclaim that yes, He has indeed profited by my testimony as a witness.

THE PHILOSOPHY OF ADVERSITY and AFFLICTION

TheChristianPatriotJames1Compilation of adversity and affliction quotes from great philosophers.

ADVERSITY borrows its sharpest stings from our impatience; it flattereth no man; it has no friends, but is not without comfort and hope; it is the parent of virtue and is easier borne than prosperity forgot; it is the true scale in which to weigh friends; it makes wise, though not rich; it often leads to prosperity, and reminds men of religion; it is a severe instructor, but the best; successfully overcome, it is the highest glory; it tests virtue, and will not last forever; he who has not known adversity, has seen but half of the world; he who swells in prosperity, will shrink in adversity; in prosperity caution, in adversity patience; it is more difficult for a man to behave well in prosperity than in adversity; men can bear adversity, but few contempt; sweet are its uses; there is no education like it; adversity makes a man wise, not rich; in the adversity of our friends, we always find something which is not wholly displeasing to us; it is the trial of principle; who hath not known misfortune, hath not read his own heart aright; it is the balance to weigh friends; heaven often smites in mercy, though the blow be severe; adversity elicits dormant talents; it is a severe instructor; our own impatience is the sharpest sting of adversity; he who hath no cross will have no crown; adversity exasperates fools, dejects cowards, and draws out the faculties of the wise; sweet are the uses of adversity.

AFFLICTION is the school of virtue; it separates the wheat from the chaff, and is the wholesome soil of virtue; heaven tries our virtue by affliction, sanctified afflictions are spiritual promotions; a calamity is man’s true touchstone”; the best people need affliction to bring their virtues into play; contentment is thus secured; it lightens the stroke to draw near to Him who wields the rod; by trial, God is shaping us for higher things; prosperity tries the fortunate, adversity the great; God afflicts us to draw us nearer to Him; great trials prepare us for great duties; crown wearers in heaven were cross bearers here; afflictions are but mercies in disguise; they are the wholesome soil of virtue, the good man’s treasure; no man would be happy without them; one affliction is better than a thousand exhortations; the afflicted person is sacred, and the best remedy is to submit to Providence, for there is mercy in affliction’s smart; it heals all those wounds of sin which mock all human art; sorrow is better than laughter, for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is improved; affliction is the wholesome soil of virtue; it shapes as it smites, and is oft a blessing in disguise; it is the good man’s shining time, his treasure; affliction’s sons are brothers in distress, whom it is god-like to relieve; no man would appreciate prosperity thoroughly, who had not experienced suffering and sorrow; the virtuous and the wicked are alike afflicted, for the same sun shines equally upon the just and upon the unjust, and it is our duty to submit to Providence, who ordereth all things well.

Another Inspirational Story From My Life When I Was Fourteen

Matthew5I must tell you all of a vacation my parents took my brother and I on when I was fourteen. It was meant to be a vacation to Jamaica for two weeks during Christmas break. You know fun in the sun, sailing, scuba diving, riding horses on the beach, etc., etc., Then, not long before we went, our parents informed us we were going to Haiti for a week first, and would only be in Jamaica a week. They informed us, the plans changed because some of our churches were having a fellowship meeting with the brothers and sisters in Haiti, and we would be attending. Now, being teenagers we weren’t too happy with the prospect of attending a church meeting, when we could be enjoying snorkeling, scuba, sailing, etc., so we complained and generally let our unhappiness be known, though we knew it would do us no good.

The time came and we flew out and went to Haiti, we had no idea what Haiti would be like, when we were flying in you could see the old wrecks, various iron objects and other obstacles in the surf, so we knew we most likely would not get to have fun in the ocean or go romping around on the beach. We landed and were driven to our hotel, it was called the El Presidente Hotel in Port-au-Prince. It was a grand structure, had walls 12+ inches thick made from some kind of white stucco like material. My brother and I walked through the foyer and out onto the balconies, there were three very large balconies that ran the length of the hotel and they were terraced out over the jungle in three step downs from each terrace to the next. On the third and last terrace when we got to the edge it was about a 50+ foot drop down to the floor of the jungle.

The wall around the edge of the terrace, like all the exterior hotel walls, were made from the white stucco, they were 12 plus inches thick and had pieces of broken glass bottles embedded in the top of the walls. This was kind of amazing to us, we had never seen anything like these walls with glass bottles that would cut you if you tried to climb on them. Now being the curious teenagers that we were, we found a way to get down through the terraces, by a set of steps that led us down to the jungle floor. We therefore descended these steps to see what we could find, when we reached the floor of the jungle, we couldn’t really see too much, other than the high wall to our left and a cleared area of the jungle that ran around the hotel. We then went walking around the wall to our left, till we got to where we could look around the corner.

There, we were astounded to see this middle aged native gentleman seated on a five gallon bucket, in front of him he had a pretty large rock, he was in the process of breaking up coral into powder (we assumed having been around construction our whole lives) to patch or build, more on these white stucco walls. The thing that so astounded us, he was doing this with only rocks, he was using the large rock in front of him to put smaller pieces of coral on, while pounding them to powder with the medium sized rock coral he had in his hands. This was amazing to us, this was obviously how they had made all the walls in the great and majestic hotel out of coral, not just that, but they didn’t use any mechanical equipment to do so. This was just one of the surprises we had waiting for us on our journey of discovery.

Not long after we had arrived we got to be friends with, or introduced to some of the native children that lived at the edge of the jungle just outside of, and below the hotel. They lived with other members of their family, I think there were about three or four adults, if my memory is correct. Where they lived was a little tin shack, couldn’t have been more than a twenty by twenty foot square, haphazardly; or so it seemed to us, thrown together with a few boards, nails, and covered with tin sheeting. They didn’t have any of the modern conveniences we were used to in America, they took showers outside in a little shower stall without a roof, also with tin on three sides. We would get up early and we were amazed to see what seemed like ten to fifteen children emerge from the small shack in the morning, we didn’t know how they found room to sleep.

One of the children we got to know really well, was named David, he would climb up in the tops of the tall palms around the edge of the terraces, they came up, to just about the height of the lowest terrace. At this point in the story, I will tell you in case you do not know, Haiti at the time was the second poorest nation in the world. David would climb up in these palms and clown around trying to get the tourists to throw him money, he was quite a character and my family got to know him quite well. If I remember correctly we even brought him into the hotel with us one time, because my parents wanted to give him something, might have been some clothes, can’t remember for sure. The thing about David, besides being an exceedingly sweet child, the whole time we were there the only clothes he wore, was a pair of short pants. The thing about the short pants was, they had no rear-end, the only thing left in the seat of his trousers were the seam and stitching holding it together, his buttocks were completely exposed. I remember my parents wanted to adopt him, he was amazingly creative and intelligent, he couldn’t have been more than ten years old.

The other children were not as brave as David I guess, for they didn’t attempt to climb up in the tops of the palms as David did, they would simply try to get us to throw them money down at the floor of the jungle around the outside terrace. My brother and I frequently obliged them throwing down the coins we had in our pockets, we both worked for our father in his HVAC business, so we had money of our own. In tossing change down to the others, there were probably about ten of them, I noticed the youngest and smallest one never got any of the change, and having been the youngest growing up among older boys, I had a soft spot in my heart for the youngest. I therefore attracted his attention to stay where he was, since he was some distance from the others, got them distracted with a few small coins and threw him down a quarter. He immediately scooped it up and took off through the jungle, the others realizing what I had done, took off after him. I hope still to this day he was able to keep it away from them, we left a day or two later, so I never knew for sure. I know he was fast. so I rest in the hope he did. I wouldn’t have wanted to do anything that would have made the others even meaner to him, than I had already witnessed.

During the camp meeting services we teenagers and children were not allowed to go into the church, I say church, it wasn’t like the churches you think of here in America. This was simply a large pavilion made with pillars to hold up the structure of the tin roof, and had no outside walls, so even though we were outside, it wasn’t much different than being inside, we could hear and see everything that was happening. We just weren’t able to sit on the pews under the roof and simply stood around the perimeter of the building. There wasn’t a lot of room left on the pews either, one of the other things that truly impressed us, the people were so hungry for the truth and the gospel, they doubled the amount of people you’d have seen in the pews in America, even when the pews were full here. What they did was, one person would sit back in the pew, the next would sit towards the front edge, the next sitting like the first, all the way back in the pew, so that they were staggered along the pew so more of them could sit, it was heart touching, their rapt attention of what was being said.

One of the other amazing things to my brother and I, as we were exploring around outside the pavilion while service was taking place. They had an outside toilet, which wasn’t nothing to my brother and I, since we had an outside toilet, i.e. outhouse, in the home we grew up in, when we first moved there. The houses bottom floor being built in 1896 and the top floor being built in 1906, there was no indoor plumbing until our father installed it after we moved in. I still remember what it was like when we first saw it, no one had lived there in years, it was truly like a haunted house you see in the movies, cobwebs everywhere, big snakes in cabinet drawers, etc. To get back to Haiti though, this outhouse they had was somewhat like you’d see in America in that there was a ladies bathroom and a men’s bathroom. They even had running water, so the quests could flush the toilets, however that is where the similarities ended, what really impressed us was how they obtained this running water. The running water was fed by gravity, there being two fifty five gallon barrels on the roof, one for the ladies, one for the men’s and there was a native gentleman on the roof that would take these five gallon buckets delivered to them by the native women, who carried the buckets to them on their heads. All this so the guests could have comfort, that they themselves did not enjoy.

The people were truly touching, their care and kindness, I will always remember fondly with a tender heart. One of the things that happened I had forgotten and was reminded of, a number of years ago when my parents were telling some friends about it. During the camp meeting, on one of the first nights. This native woman was selling penny candy, (or at least then it was penny candy) for people to buy in order to assuage their thirst, hunger and to protect others from your bad breath while services were going on. I remembered her well because when I first approached her about buying some of her candy, she tried to charge me a quarter each, for a penny piece of candy, not being too much of a young fool, I told her to forget it and she quickly went down to a penny on her price. I bought a bunch of candy from her, knowing me, probably a couple dollars worth.

Known among those who knew me best, I was an extremely generous soul when growing up, so I being me, I started giving candy to those native children around me during the church service, more came, I went and bought more candy, and continued to give it out to the children around me, it wasn’t long until there were what seemed like hundreds of children around wanting candy, so many that one of the ministers stood up to the pulpit and asked over the microphone “whoever is giving the native children candy, would you please stop”. I did, and the native children slowly went back to their neighborhoods.

One of the young men I met then, was about my age and we became fast friends, although I cannot remember his name now. He took it upon himself to be my “protector” and “guide”. Protector to make sure other natives didn’t take advantage of me like the candy lady had tried to do, and guide, to take me to wherever I wished to go, including into the native neighborhoods around where the church services were being held. I went with him and met many of the people, you couldn’t have asked for more genuinely sweet, good people. They lived in little comfort, the sewer consisted of a ditch that ran along the side of the thoroughfare, whether it was a road, path, or trail. Their garbage was heaped into a central pile that was continuously smoldering in the center of each neighborhood. It was really eye opening for a fourteen year old from America, it left quite an impression on me.

This young man I had met, spent the whole week with me, taking me to places most tourists never saw, he went to the markets with me and helped me with the bartering for the various souvenirs, I wanted to bring home. He was truly a good friend in the short time I knew him, one of the last things I did before I left was to give him a ten dollar bill for all the care and trouble he took for me, showing me around and helping me. I fully expect that ten dollars, if it didn’t set him up in some kind of small business, it lasted him for at least a year. Judging from what I knew of him the short time I was there, I expect he used it to further his life and made much more money from it.

One of the other things we did, some of the older church boys took some of us younger ones to what they said was a voodoo ceremony, now we were pretty skeptical, but I will say, there was this big chicken sitting on a stump not far from me, no visible ties holding it in place and all it did was move its eyes the whole time we were there, didn’t even move its head. I won’t go into detail on the other things that took place, it was pretty wild though I must say.

One of the other things I’ll tell you about it, as I mentioned the women carrying these five gallon buckets of water on their heads. My guide informed me, by the time a girl there grew to adulthood, they could carry 100 pounds on their heads. This fresh water they carried, there was one place in Port-au-Prince I saw where they could get it from, according to what I was told, the only place, was in downtown in the central square by where they had the market. The market isn’t like some market you see in America, this market was a vast complex of outdoor stalls that took up a large portion of downtown Port-au-Prince. The native women would come from miles around just to get five gallon buckets of fresh water to take back home to their families. They not only carried water in them though, they carried, sand, gravel, and numerous other things in them. The buckets weren’t the only things they carried on their heads either, they carried all of there large cumbersome loads on their heads. They would take a cloth, roll it up in a roll like a bandana, make a small circle with it to fit the crown of their heads, and would sit the buckets on these, thus creating a stable base for whatever they were carrying.

I could go on and on about my time in Haiti, I remember it so well, because of the impression it left on my young heart and mind. While I remember some things about Jamaica, I rarely go into detail about it, because it didn’t leave near the impression upon me that Haiti did, the main thing I remember fondly about Jamaica was my first time scuba diving, and the native lady who wanted to trade clothes with me on the beach because she liked my t-shirt with the smiling sun on it and the words “smile and the whole world smiles with you”. My mom bought me that t-shirt because I was always smiling when I was a youngster. Almost broke up one of my brothers school plays one time because my smiling in the audience caused my brother and the others on stage to laugh so much. Every young person in America should go to at least one country like Haiti while they are growing up, just to give them a perspective of how truly blessed they are to have been born here.

Mom and Dad, if I never told you. Thank you for changing our plans that year, you have no idea how I am touched by and hold onto the memory of the wonderful experiences I had, and the time we spent there. I love you both dearly, my life has been greatly blessed because you are my parents!

That’s enough for now, if I think of something else good to add, or think of another story. I’ll give you more when I do, things in my life spark these memories, I never know when I will be reminded of something that I have to share. Until then I will keep adding my history pieces that could be contemporary pieces in dealing with today’s problems, and other inspirational, patriotic and educational stories from history.

Christian Condescension: Reminds Me of the Teachings of My Youth

I believe a visible church to be a congregation of those who make a credible profession of their faith in Christ, and obedience to him, joined by the bond of the covenant #quote Roger Sherman, Signer of the Declaration of Independence and United States Constitution

True Story from my life: Never Judge a Book by it’s Cover: In memory of a great man I once knew

“Truth, indeed, came once into the world with her Divine Master, and was a perfect shape, most glorious to look upon; but when he ascended, and his apostles after him were laid asleep then strait arose a wicked race of Deceivers, who, as that story goes of that wicked Typhon with his conspirators, how they dealt with the good Osiris, took the virgin Truth, hewed her lovely form into a thousand pieces, and scattered them to the four winds. From that time ever since, the sad friends of Truth, such as durst appear imitating the careful search which Isis made for the mangled body of Osiris, went up and down, gathering up every limb still as they could find them. We have not yet found them all, Lords and Commons, nor ever shall do till her Master’s second coming. He shall bring together every joint and member, and shall mould them into an immortal feature of loveliness and perfection.” ~ John Milton in his Areopagitica 1644

NOTE: Condescension in this instance is not speaking of a patronizing, rude tone or behavior; it means voluntary assumption of equality with a person regarded as inferior. In other words, showing charity and humility to those who you think are or are in fact inferior to you, just as Jesus washed the feet of those who were inferior to him.

Originally Titled “Christian Condescension” in The Friend, A Religious and Literary Journal from “The Free Thinker” section dated July 25, 1829 [Friends refers to the original Quakers]

The importance of maintaining brotherly love, and that respect which is due to the sentiments of each other, is impressively inculcated in the subsequent remarks of Stephen Crisp, which contain a beautiful description of a religious society, properly organized under the government and direction of the Head of the church [Jesus Christ]. We have always professed, that the sensible guidance of the holy Spirit was essential to the performance of every act, characterized by the solemn title of religious duty. The Great Shepherd putteth forth his own sheep, and goeth before them. They know his voice, and they follow him, and the voice of a stranger they will not follow. How safe to be thus led by him: and to experience this state of safety, we must not only know, but faithfully obey his voice. Can there be any jar or confusion amongst a people thus disciplined and thus obedient? Every one would keep his rank in righteousness, and being subject to him in whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge, nothing would be lacking to the complete performance of his divine will. Heavenly harmony and unity would naturally subsist amongst these followers of the Prince of Peace. Ephraim would not envy Judah, nor Judah vex Ephraim. The strong would cheerfully bear the burdens of the weak, and the younger and inexperienced would treat with due deference the judgment of their elders in the truth. Humility and condescension would be learned in this school, and while we were engaged in doing the Lord’s work, we should be promoting our own advancement in the way of salvation. We cannot but hope, however discouraging the signs of the times may often appear, that the Lord is at work in the hearts of many, to prepare them, like the stones of the temple, to be built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood to offer acceptable sacrifices to him through Jesus Christ. May we all give ourselves up to his divine government, and he will not fail to perfect the work to the praise and glory of his grace, and to the comfort and enlargement of his church. Signed M.

“And all you, dear friends, upon whom the Lord hath laid a care for his honour, and for the prosperity of the truth, and gathered you into the good order of the gospel, to meet together to manage the affairs thereof; take heed that ye have a single eye to the Lord; to do the Lord’s business in the leadings of his spirit, which is but one, and brings all that are given up to be governed by it, to be of one mind and heart, at least, in the general purpose and service of those meetings. Although, through the diversity of exercises, and the several degrees of growth among the brethren, every one may not see or understand alike in every matter, at the first propounding of it; yet this makes no breach of the unity, nor hinders the brotherly kindness, but puts you often upon an exercise and an inward travailing, to feel the pure, peaceable wisdom that is from above, to open among you, and every one’s ear is open to it, in whomsoever it speaks; and thereby a sense of life is given in the meeting, to which all that are of a simple and tender mind, join and agree. But if any among you be contrary minded in the management of some outward affair, relating to the truth, this doth not presently break the unity that ye have in Christ, nor should weaken the brotherly love, so long as he keeps waiting for an understanding from God, to be gathered into the same sense with you, and walks with you according to the law of charity. Such an one ought to be borne with and cherished, and the supplications of your souls will go up to God for him, that God may reveal it to him, if it be his will, that so no difference may be in understanding, so far as is necessary for the good of the church, no more than there is in matters of faith and obedience to God. For, my friends, it is not absolute necessity that every member of the church should have the same measure of understanding in all things; for then where were the duty of the strong bearing with the weak? then where were the brother of low degree? where would be any submitting to them that are set over others in the Lord? which all tend to the preserving unity in the church, notwithstanding the different measures and different growths of the members thereof. For as the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets, so are the spirits of all that are kept in a true subjection to the spirit of life in themselves, kept in the same subjection to the sense of life given by the same spirit in the church; and by this means we come to know the one Master, even Christ, and have no room for other masters, in the matter of our obedience to God. And while every one keeps in this true subjection’, the sweet concord is known, and the oil is not only upon Aaron’s head, but it reacheth the skirts of his garment also; and things are kept sweet and savoury, and ye love one another, from the greatest to the least in sincerity, and as the apostle saith without dissimulation. And this love excludes all whisperings of evil things, all backbiting, grudgings and murmurings, and keeps Friends’ minds clear one toward another, waiting for every opportunity to do each other good and to preserve each other’s reputation, and their hearts are comforted at the sight of one another. And in all their affairs, both relating to the church and to the world, they will be watchful over their own spirits, and “keep in the Lord’s power, over that nature and ground in themselves, that would be apt to take an offence, or construe any word or action, to a worse sense than the simplicity thereof, or the intention of the other concerned will allow of.”

“And whereas it may often fall out, that among a great many, some may have a different apprehension of a matter from the rest of their brethren, especially in outward or temporal things, there ought to .-be a Christian liberty, maintained for such to express their sense, with freedom of mind, or else they will go away burdened; whereas if they speak their minds freely, and a friendly and Christian conference be admitted thereupon, they may be eased, and oftentimes the different apprehension of such a one comes to be wholly removed, and his understanding opened to see as the rest see; for the danger in society doth not lie so much in this, that some few may have a differing apprehension in some things from the general sense, as it doth in this; namely, when such that so differ, do suffer themselves to be led out of the bond of charity, and labour to impose their private sense upon the rest of their brethren, and to be offended and angry if it be not received; this is the seed of sedition and strife that hath grown up in too many to their own hurt.

“And therefore, my dear friends, beware of it, and seek not to drive a matter on in fierceness or in anger, nor to take offence into your minds at any time, because what seems to be clear to you is not presently received; but let all things in the church be propounded with an awful reverence of Him that is the head and life of it, who hath said, ‘where two or three are met in my name, I will be in the midst of them;’ and so he is, and may befelt by all who keep in his spirit.”

NOTE (~CJD): Those who question my religion, I am neither catholic, nor protestant, nor charismatic, Mormon, LDS, Mennonites, Quakers, etc. The group of churches I grew up in you probably, have never heard of. I was raised in a non-denominational group of churches originally called “School of the prophets” by outsiders (not to be confused with the LDS church) The “School of the Prophets” was a designation given by outside ministers who came visiting at the old campground from whence the movement began, if my memory serves me well.. Sometime in the early 1900’s they began to be known simply as “the Body of Christ”.

For those that say forget religion but give me Jesus; Paul said in Philippians 1:15 Some indeed preach Christ even of envy and strife; and some also of good will: 16 The one preach Christ of contention, not sincerely, supposing to add affliction to my bonds: 17 But the other of love, knowing that I am set for the defence of the gospel. 18 What then? notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.

“If men are so wicked with religion,” said Benjamin Franklin to one who was about publishing an argument against the providence of God, “what would they be without it?” The advice Franklin gave in this instance was characteristic of the man. “He that spits against the wind, spits in his own face.”

I was raised to be skeptical of organized religion, I cannot say I was raised to be against it, for the reason exact reason Paul says here, “notwithstanding, every way, whether in pretence, or in truth, Christ is preached; and I therein do rejoice, yea, and will rejoice.” for that is the only way a lot of people learn about Jesus. Therefore I will not say I’m against it, nor would I say I hate it. I hate what some have done in Jesus’ name, but you have that even outside of organized religion, besides that there are good people in all religions which is why the Bible says in another passage there are God’s people in all “Come out of her my people”

Revelations 18:4 And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. 5 For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.

Jesus has people in organized religion, while I condemn the things some do in organized religion, I do not condemn it all as bad. I grew up in, and was taught among people who are into the Pure Religion of Jesus Christ just as;

James said in chapter 1:26 If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain. 27 Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

Therefore I will not condemn religion for there are God’s people in all and (paraphrased here) if you offend the least of these, it is better you had a millstone around your neck and cast into the sea.

Hence I am careful, lest I cause a stumbling block to those who might be saved having been taught by those whom (2 Timothy 3:)5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away. 6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, 7 Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

I am also careful not to condemn any one group, for Hebrews 13: says 1 Let brotherly love continue. 2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. 3 Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.

From studying history, I would say they [the Body of Christ] are most likely the descendents of Quakers from way back, I know many in my family at the founding of the United States and before, were Quakers, I’m sure they must have some connection to those once known as “the Jerks” because of the manifestation of the Spirit of God (Holy Ghost) in their services.

This ministry was built on what we refer to as the “threshing floor” [which refers to ministers having discussions and sometimes arguments on the Truth in the Word, separating the Truth from the interpretation of man or wheat from the chaff] and is solely dedicated to the truth in the Word and the True Gospel of Christ, they have never sought fame, notoriety, nor fortune. They have simply tried to live simple Christian lives and do only those things which are pleasing to God and our Savior the Lord Jesus Christ.

The ministers are not voted for, nor chosen by anyone other than Jesus, no one signs anything to join, if Jesus adds you, there you are. They are most closely associated with Pentecostal, or at least identified as such by those who do not know them. The churches do not have a program other than following the Spirit of God, many times you will hear them say “watch the spirit and where it leads”. Anyone can speak at any time, sing songs, whatever the spirit of God (Holy Ghost) leads any one to do.

It is orderly however, because the people themselves are orderly, that is unless there is an out pouring of the Holy Ghost, then things can get a little exciting. It’s all good and the people are among the best I have ever known in my life.

We are more into restoring the church like it was in the Early Reign church, and living life without sin, like Jesus taught people to do in the first place. And yes, we believe that you can overcome sin, in this life and grow into the perfect knowledge and image of Christ.

For those who do not agree with my views and those I post quotes of, about Christianity, or who think I have never known anything else. I have investigated it, and I came to my conclusions with reason and the help of the Lord: All the quotes, etc., I share, are things that I agree with because I have seen them in my own life.

Like many in my generation, in my teens I turned from the Lord even though I grew up with, and around the most Christ-like people I have ever known in my life, and as a child, I do not believe, I could have had a greater love for the Lord. However, I had no real understanding of the wisdom and knowledge of the Lord, for all the hours I had set listening to ministers, I never really understood, because one, I was just loving Jesus and two, I was completely naive, what proverbs refers to in one instance “a simple one”

I strayed and due to various things in my life, questioned even the very existence of Jesus, it was by his grace and mercy that I finally began to understand, after he removed the scales from my eyes and heart.

I won’t go into how he did this, but let me say, I was the mule that he had to use the 2×4 between the eyes on to get my attention. After using that 2×4 however, he let me see, and showed me the Greatest Love I have ever felt, or known in my life, and since that time (age mid-late 20’s) I have lived for the sole purpose of loving and serving him, and giving others the understanding and wisdom he has allowed me to see, through looking back at my life.

See, I have a great memory and can go through my life, step by step in detail, and see the numerous and various ways he tried to reach out to me, when I failed miserably to see his hand in my life, which is why I have an affinity for the song “He was there all the time”.

Let me say for all the bad I did, he in his grace and mercy, I believe and hope, has made something he can use to help others along life’s way. If not helpful to others, it is because of my failures and not his.

Never Judge a Book by it’s Cover: In memory of a great man I once knew

homeless manNever Judge A Book By It’s Cover, in memory of a great man I once knew.

I have to write this in memory of a man I once knew in southern California. As I sat reading my Bible this morning, the Lord brought him back to my mind. This man, I met outside of a restaurant where my family, dad, mom, brother, and some others used to go after church. I used to go outside at times while I was waiting for the others to finish eating. I would run into various people while hanging out, waiting for the others.

One night, I met this man and started talking to him, he could quote me any scripture. It did not matter how hard I made it for him. I could give him a book, chapter and verse out of the Bible and he’d quote it to me verbatim. Even when I would make it hard for him and quote scripture myself, he could tell me exactly where it was in the Bible. I’d do things to try to trip him up, and he never failed to get it exactly right. I could quote him scriptures from various points in the Bible and he’d pick up on it. I used to marvel at how well he knew the Bible.

Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge,
ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be
measured to you. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy
brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine
own eye? Matthew 7:!-3

The thing that really touched me, and caused me to remember him today is, you see, he was dirty, disheveled, talked to himself, and was homeless. The moral of the story, never judge a book by its cover, you may miss out on things that you marvel at your whole life, and the memory of, touches your heart as only the Lord can.

My uncle admonished me one time about how my brother and I always had friends that were low class or without class, if I had been as he admonished me to be, I would have missed out on knowing this man, who I now remember so fondly. I guess I got my love of the underdog from his sister, my mother. Moral: never avoid someone you may think beneath you, for to God, they may be above you, and you are just too blind to see, because of your high mindedness, thinking of yourself more than you are.

See, I never minded giving money to wino’s, or those who were homeless, even if I knew they would just go buy booze or whatever, as I told those who admonished me about it. Booze, etc., that is all that some of those people had, if any of them were taking advantage of me, I knew the Lord would honor my gift, whether he honored the ones who simply took advantage of me or not. Even if I felt the Lord wouldn’t honor, I would have done the same. It wasn’t up to me to judge, it was up to me, to do what the Lord laid it on my heart to do.

Another story from the same place:

Now that I have told you about him, I’ll tell you of another, I also met this younger man one night who came up to me pushing a bicycle with a flat tire, he asked me if I had five dollars so he could get it fixed. I think I gave him ten, funny thing is, I was back at the same restaurant a couple of nights later. I went outside as I normally did, and this same young man came up to me, again pushing the bike with the flat tire. He tried to give me the same story again, I laughed at him, for I was incredulous he didn’t remember me and I told him I had just given him the money to fix it a couple nights before, and I wouldn’t be fooled again. Moral of this story: Don’t be a sucker either

Prayer at The Commencement of The New Year

HappyNewYearBlessingO LORD, Thou hast been our dwelling-place in all generations. From everlasting to everlasting Thou art God, without change or decay; but to us, Thou hast divided our time into weeks and days and months and years. In this way Thou dost admonish us of the progress of our duration here. The heavens continue to this day, for they are Thy ordinances, intended by Thee to admonish us of our progress towards a boundless eternity. Another year has completed its rounds. We look back over the past and recall to our memory the many changes which have occurred, and the numerous mercies which have befallen us. Many are they whom we knew on earth who are now numbered with the dead. Thou turnest man to destruction; and sayest, Return, ye children of men. Many tender ties have been severed; many useful lives have been terminated. Many unlooked-for events have transpired, and we acknowledge the reception of many unlooked-for and precious blessings.

O give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, for His mercy endureth for ever.

Grant, O Lord, that should we be spared through another year, our lives may be spent to Thy praise. But hast Thou otherwise determined, and if this year we must die, prepare us for an exchange of worlds. Whatever our hands find to do may we do it with all our might. We would not forget that the night cometh when no man can work; therefore, grant, O Lord, should this year be our last, it may be the most serious and the most devout we have ever yet passed, and may it be the most diligent of all we have yet spent in the cause of the Redeemer. May it be a good year to our precious souls, and a prosperous year to the Church of the Saviour. May the gospel be preached more widely and more effectually than ever before. May all Thy priests be clothed with righteousness; send down upon them all the healthful spirit of Thy grace. Oh that amidst all Thy Churches the gospel may be better understood, and more faithfully and more successfully preached! Prepare Thy people by Thine own presence amongst them for Thy expected return.

Teach us, O Lord, during this year more diligently to employ and improve our precious time. May we walk circumspectly, redeeming the time, because the days yet to come are few and may be evil. Let not our indolence invite the tempter. May every day as it passes carry with it into eternity the record of some work done for Thee and for our fellow-men; and if we be spared to reach the close of this year, may the retrospect afford us some degree of satisfaction and peace.

May we remember that we are in a world of change and disappointment; prepare us for all the vicissitudes of life. In the day of prosperity may we be joyful, and in the day of adversity consider. Help us in all things to remember that Thou art our Sovereign, and that Thou art ever good and kind, just and true. O God, our help in ages past, be Thou our strength for years to come. We yield ourselves to Thee, and amidst all the uncertainties of the future, we hope in Thy mercy. Graciously accept our confidence, for the sake of Thy dear Son Jesus Christ our Saviour. Amen.

Don’t be discouraged with Jesus, if things do not go your way

Don’t drink beer myself, however I like the message!

I have run into many people in my time on social media who let their problems, the world, various other things get them down. I would like to encourage you and tell you that no matter how bad it is, or it gets, Jesus is always there. He is the most approachable, understanding, caring, and humble person you will ever encounter. I heard one minister say, you can’t get to God, without going through His Son, who is the door. You can’t go above Jesus, because His name is higher than any other! You can’t go around Jesus, because His love is too broad, You can’t go under Jesus, because He is too humble. This is truly apropos.

There are numerous and various things in my life, that could, and would get me down, if I let them. However, by the grace of God and Jesus’ help, I do not. It is somewhat a matter of faith, and somewhat a matter of evidence. All I have to do is look at the things Jesus created around me in nature to see how much He loves us! Not only that, you look at the countenance of those that truly serve Him, His love is radiant all over their faces. Granted there are those with somewhat sour exteriors, however, they are also usually the grumblers and complainers.

A testament of the love, of the Lord Jesus

If you are new to Jesus, do not think because you are not getting what you want, that he does not hear, or that he is ignoring you or doesn’t care.

Number one, God’s word says “seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these other things will be added unto you.” it also says that in Hebrews 11:

1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

2 For by it the elders obtained a good report.

3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

4 By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.

5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

Now pay special attention to verse 6 and the word diligently.

6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

7By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

8By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.

9By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:

10For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

11Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.

Number two, you should not turn to Jesus, simply to get what you want. He responds when you turn to him, for what he died for. Your souls salvation, not to give you what you want, Jesus gives you what you need. That doesn’t mean if man does something adverse to you, that Jesus was responsible.

God gave man a free will, for those who do not understand (as I did not for a long time) why God lets bad things happen to good people or children. Remember God gave us all free will, we are all also sinners. If God were to condemn the person who kills, or commits some other heinous crime against someone. (i.e. someone who commits egregious sins), to death right away. Then He would also have to condemn the person who tells a little white lie.

Number three, if you put things in God’s hands, you cannot then be constantly fretting about it, worrying about it, and wondering in your heart if you did the right thing. This is putting things in God’s hands, with your stipulations or taking them back after having turned them over to Him. He’s smart enough to know, you never really put things in His hands at all.

Jesus is truly amazing, reliable, and caring as no one else. I am so close to Him, because I feel close to him in my heart, I know and believe for instance that Jesus, while I write this, He is right by my side, helping me with my thoughts, words, etc. If it weren’t for Him, His instruction, etc. I would not be able to write the things I do. You can ask anyone who really knows me. I’m not a man within myself, of many words, I do not talk small talk, I only speak at length when it is important. Then as you can see from some of my posts, I can be long winded. 😉 I am also not a real religious man, I do love Jesus though, I also do my best to serve Him and walk with Him.

If you decide or have decided to give Jesus a chance, know first of all, He has been giving you a chance your whole life. There is an old hymn, that is one of my favorites “He was there all the time, waiting patiently in line, He was there all the time” Jesus is the perfect gentleman, he will not force himself on you, nor will he condemn you when you fail, do wrong, etc. He will simply wait till you are done screwing up your life, and realize once again, that you need Him.

Beautiful! Rev. James Moore sings He Was There All The Time

So if you give Him a chance, truly give Him one. He deals with everyone in different ways, as I said, He gives you what you need. He will also test you, your faith, your determination. However, He will not lay something on you that you are not strong enough for, at times it will seem as though He does, He knows you though, far better than you, yourself do. He also said, “he that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved.”

There’s a country song by Garth Brooks Unanswered Prayers that says. “Some of God’s greatest gifts are unanswered prayers”, because God knew when the writer asked for something from God. God knew what the future held, had God granted his prayer, he would have missed out on the truly great blessing, God had planned for him down the road.

Jesus truly holds your world in the palm of His hands, it’s up to you, what He does with it, ignores it, waits patiently for you, or helps you in your world to truly have the happiness, peace, fulfillment, and love, only He can give!

Hug certificate

Cute!

A Hug Certificate for You!

If I could catch a rainbow
I would do it just for you
And share with you its beauty
On the days you’re feeling blue.

If I could build a mountain
You could call your very own;
A place to find serenity,
A place to be alone.

If I could take your troubles
I would toss them in the sea,
But all these things, I’m finding,
Are impossible for me.

I cannot build a mountain
Or catch a rainbow fair,
But let me be what I know best,
A friend who’s always there..

This is a Hug Certificate!!

Send One to All Your Friends Who You Think Deserve A Hug
(Which, Hopefully Includes the Person Who Sent It to You).

If you receive this back 2 times –
You’re off to a good start,
Unless you sent it to yourself.

That’s cheating!

If you receive this back 3 times –
You’re a good friend.

If you receive this back 4 times –
I wanna be just like you..  You are popular!

If you receive this back 5 times or more –

 There are angels watching you

 Life is a coin,
you can spend it anyway you wish,
but you can only spend it once.

She

Dedicated to the girl who has always occupied my heart! My love, my life, my desire, I love you baby! I’ve been thinking of writing this one for a while!

She makes me laugh more in a few months than I have almost my whole life.
She lights up the room for me when she enters.
She can calm me when I am in a rage, and
She can makes me smile, when all I want to be is mad.
She makes me think of things in ways I never have.
When all the world is in turmoil around us,
She can help me make sense of it,
and see the workings of the Lord in it.
She can make me feel love,
Even when I am angry at the world!

She makes me smile just by thinking of her,
She can calm my entire being with just a touch.
She puts up with me when I play dirty little ornery tricks on her, a lot!
She laughs with me at those same tricks.
She doesn’t know it, but, she doesn’t have to speak a word, give a look, or even a touch,
to make me love her more everyday.
Just being herself and I think of all the little ways she tries to please me.
She makes my heart grow just by thinking of her.

She is the most beautiful girl I have ever known,
She always held this distinction in my eyes.
She lets me know she loves me with a look, a touch, a sigh,
She does it in so many little ways, I cannot describe.
She is truly amazing, how even the little things that irritate me,
They make me laugh and love her all the more.
She has earned my deepest respect and my sacred trust!
She has brought out things in me, that no one else ever could.
She brings out a tenderness in my heart, that I thought was reserved only for the Lord.

She is the standard which every other girl has ever been held to.
She is the balance by which all other girls were weighed.
She is the ruler by which all others were measured.

She contrasts me and compliments me, in ways that can only be described as God’s perfect union.
She is not perfect, yet it is those imperfections, that make me, love her all the more greatly.
Those imperfections were put there by the hand of the Master, for He knew.
She is my soulmate, my lifelong love, my heart of hearts.
She is everything that I ever wanted in a woman,
She is that and so much more.

When God made her, He knew more about what I wanted, than I myself did.
For she never ceases to surprise me with how much He made her for me.
She does it just by being herself,
She doesn’t even know it,
Yet with each new thing I learn about her,
Satisfies longings, desires that I never even knew were in me.
She was truly made by God for me and I for she.

I couldn’t help but love her,
For loving her, is why I was made.
She makes me happier than I ever thought it possible to be.
Her smile always transforms, and improves my day.
She is my sunshine when all is gray.
She truly is my beautiful, precious and delicate flower.
The most beautiful, precious and delicate flower I have ever had in my hands!
I love you baby, I hope this gives you a smile.
Yours is worth more than a million bucks!

I love you truly, unconditionally, unwavering, undaunted, with all my heart, my being, for all time!

I can only thank God the father for His love, and Jesus Christ His son, for his hand in our lives. Thank God we finally found what we were looking for, and it was each other!

Friendship

Friendship is a mighty ship,
That weathers many gales,
And leaves a blessing to the world,
In every place it sails.
It helps the dreary, cheers the sad,
And drives dark clouds away;
It gives a helping hand to those,
Who’ve fallen by the way.

Friendship is a blessed ship,
That’s full of peace and love,
And carries sunshine everywhere,
From God’s own blessed above,
And makes the world a better place –
E’en more like heavens sweet –
And helps smooth the pathway out,
For weary pilgrim’s feet.

By Walter E. Isenhour

Tomorrow is not promised us,
So let us take today,
And make the very most of it
The once we pass this way,
Just speak aloud the kindly thought,
And do the kindly deed,
And try to see and understand,
Some fellow creature’s need,
Tomorrow is not promised us
Nor any other day,
So let us make the most of it,
The once we pass this way.

Friendship is a chain of God,,,,Shaped to God’s all perfect mold,,,,Each link a smile, a laugh, a tear,,,,,A grip of the hand, a word of cheer,,Steadfast as the ages roll,,,,Binding closer soul to soul,,,,No matter how far or heavy the load,,,,Sweet is the journey on friendships road. What is a friend?
An English publication offered a prize for the best definition of a friend, and among the thousands of answers received were the following:
“One who multiplies joys, divides grief, and whose honesty is inviolable.”
“One who understands our silence.”
“A volume of sympathy bound in cloth.”
“A watch which beats true for all time and never runs down.”
Here is the definition that won the prize: “A friend is the one who comes in when the whole world has gone out.”

To A Friend
I love you not only for what you are, but for what I am when I am with you.
I love you not only for what you have made of yourself, but for what you are making of me
I love you for the part of me that you bring out.
I love you for putting your hand into my heaped-up heart and passing over all the foolish and frivolous and weak things that you can’t help dimly seeing there, and for drawing out into the light all the beautiful and radiant belongings that no one else had looked quite far enough to find.
I love you for ignoring the possibilities of the fool and weakling in me, and for laying firm hold on the possibilities of the good in me,
I love you for closing your ears to the discords in me, and for adding to the music in me by worshipful listening.
I love you because you are helping me to make the timber of my life not a tavern, but a temple, and of the words of my every day not a reproach, but a song.
I love you because you have done more than any creed could have done to make me happy.
You have done it without a touch, without a word, without a sign.
You have done it first by being yourself.
After all, perhaps this is what being a friend means.
Author Unknown; it makes me think of Jesus, who is the friend that fits all the words.

A testament of the love, of the Lord Jesus

Dedicated to the Great Lord, Darci, the only girl I ever really loved, my brother Rich, and his bride, Kathy. Please bear with me, it’s long,  it’s worth the read however, I hope.

I don’t really know how to start this one off. There are so many things in my heart I wish to express, hopefully I can do it justice.

Let me start by giving a little background, Kathy, Rich and I grew up in the same church, it is also where I first met Darci, I was 10, she was 9. I remember the first time I saw her, as clear as if it were yesterday, it was truly love at first sight. I couldn’t take my eyes off her, nor could she take hers off me. We were boyfriend-girlfriend off and on through our early-mid teens. Kathy and Rich were childhood sweethearts through their teen years, Darci, I, Rich and Kathy used to double date before I was able to drive, or at least legally.

Darci and I parted when I was about 14, Kathy and Rich when they got somewhat older. Darci married at 15, then I married at 17. I got divorced at 19, when we were in our early 20’s we got together again. We were together for a time, went our ways again. Didn’t talk again until we were in our late 20’s. She doesn’t even remember talking to me then, however the Lord had been talking to me about her for at least a year or two when she called me. I didn’t know then though, that He was talking to me about her. I was dating and breaking up with a girl, I was dating at that time. A girl by the way, who I was dating for the simple reason, she reminded me of Darci.

I won’t tell you what all I was going through at the time, it was hell, cause I couldn’t figure out what was going on, I have always analyzed everything in my life. I must add, not long before this I had even questioned the existence of Jesus. To tell a little of what I experienced, it was like I was having one conversation with one person or a superior being i.e. God, through everyone I talked to. Let me try to explain to the best of my ability, I have always had a good memory and played back in my mind every conversation I have ever had with people, in the days after the conversation(s) took place, therefore I remembered them. For a number of weeks, before I figured out the Lord was talking to me, each person, (family, friends, acquaintances) I encountered and talked to, it was like an ongoing conversation with one person. On top of that, what they said when I encountered them, it was like they were even responding to what I was thinking or had been thinking at the time. It seemed to me, at least until I understood what was going on, they all knew what was going on and I was the only one in the dark. I kept asking them, “what’s going on?” My family thought I was going insane, I must say at times it felt like it. When I realized the Lord was talking to me it hit me like a ton of bricks. I knew He was trying to get through to me on some things. However, I didn’t understand some or a lot of what He was saying at the time.

To tell you how I finally understood it was the Lord Jesus talking to me. It got to the point where I was so totally exhausted, mentally, physically, and spiritually that I could hardly even lift up my head. When I got to that point, one day my brother and I were going to help our dad on a job he was doing. We lived in California at the time, we were driving on the freeway, I was a wreck and the first time I forced myself to lift up my head, we just so happened to be going under an overpass that someone had painted graffiti on, I had seen a lot of graffiti as it is all over Southern California. However, this was not your normal gang related graffiti or someones art, this was simply where someone had painted, “Jesus Jesus Jesus Jesus” over an over, they had made two rows of His name on the side of overpass. This was all I saw when I looked up. When I saw it, the greatest and most overwhelming love washed over me, it was like nothing I had ever felt, even though I had grown up in a very religious family and loved the Lord with all my heart as a child. See, I didn’t really figure out anything, He had to show me. I was so amazed He took the time with me, when that happened and it finally dawned on me “what was going on!“.

Now back to Darci and I, I had known (to some extent at least) since our teens that she & I were meant to be together, however I could not say the right words to make her see this. I can be blunt and matter of fact, I think, knowing her now, that she thought I was arrogant or something. I just tell it like I see it, the truth, no apologies, no beating around the bush. I think I knew when we first saw each other that she was the one, I was just too young to understand it. I asked my dad when I was very young how I would know when I found the “one“, I still remember that like yesterday too, he said “You’ll just know“. I can’t even begin to put in words how I loved, and wanted more than I had ever wanted anything, just to love and be loved by her. All that being said, I did not even then understand what all it meant, because I thought I could be happy with other women, not any woman, I have always had to have a love for anyone I was with, and since I always gave 110% (at least to begin with, just being honest) in any relationship. I always thought even though there is one perfect mate for everyone, I thought I could be happy with others who I had love for. After a number of relationships and two marriages, I figured out (after studying myself and my life) I would never be truly happy with anyone else. The Lord had to incapacitate me for a number of years and leave me house bound for me to take the time to really think about what I wanted in life, to study the life I had led, and the chronological events of my life, to truly understand this.

I never tried to go after her when we parted ways, because I knew it wouldn’t do me any good, until she understood what I had known for so long. I must say I had all but given up hope, that would ever happen, more on that in a bit. Every girl I was ever with, she was the yardstick, by which they were all measured, she was the standard that they were all put up against. I was never with any girl/woman that could make me forget her, nor, that could keep me from thinking of her. They of course never knew this, nor did she, until I told her here while back.

Back to her and I in a bit, let’s talk about my brother and Kathy. I love my brother more than life, I knew for years by watching him with girls other than Kathy that he had always been, was still in love with Kathy, even though he let her marry someone else without saying a word. I knew this by the girls he had relationships with the longest, cause they reminded me of Kathy, not the looks really, more the demeanor and personalities. He never dated anyone long unless they reminded me of her.

As I alluded to earlier, I tend to analyze things, “a lot” this is how I figure things out, although it drives some of those I am closest to nuts at times. LOL! I have to say, this is how God made me. I can remember conversations, situations, etc. verbatim. I will go over things in my mind long, long after they take place, when I am trying to figure out what’s going on. And, I’m always trying to figure out something that’s going on. LOL! I was told when I was 17 by a cop, I would make a great detective. There is also a bit of discernment involved, I think some of the people on twitter have seen this with me.

I talked to Kathy about 2 years ago, I said to her then “You know, Rich has always been stuck on you”. I don’t know how long after this, that they started talking on the phone to each other, maybe they already had been. I don’t think they were talking much if any though, they did however start talking, that led to dating, dating has led to marriage. They are getting married on the 23rd of June, which happens to be my mom & dads anniversary. I must say, I never knew how romantic my brother could be. I laugh at how he is with her, not because I think it is funny, but because I love them both so much and am overjoyed for them. To understand, why I say what I do, about how romantic he is with her, you’ll have to read the blog post I did, when I first found out they were dating. The Rise and Fall of my Big Brother I can’t tell you how many times he told me he’d never get married, he hadn’t ever met a girl who was worth it. I knew better….I have never seen him more tender than he is now with her, it truly touches my heart and makes me smile.

Now my bro just reached the half century mark, Kathy’s almost there, Darci and I are in our late 40’s. I don’t know if I truly understand all of the variables involved, in what took us all so long. Kathy, I think would have married Rich when they were together in their teens, had he straightened up, been responsible, etc. I don’t know, it might only have taken him asking her. He didn’t, whatever the case, so she moved on. I know I have waited a long time to see him happy, and I have never seen him more happy, than he is now. Maybe he just needed time to truly appreciate her, maybe he just needed to understand how much he needed her. I tend to think it is more the latter. Darci, well, I would have came to her no matter where, nor what time, or who I was with, all she ever had to do was ask. I know that I failed to make her understand how much I loved her. (I don’t however know what more I could have said, obviously there is more I could have done) I feel that it also had to do with me being so wild, and not so responsible myself at some levels. My bro and I are country boys, that could have something to do with why we were so wild for so long. However, I believe that it also has to do with the fact, that neither of us had what we wanted, and/or needed most in life. I always believed Darci loved me, I therefore could never understand why she didn’t see what I did. I never troubled her over it though, I knew she had to see it for herself.

I must add at this point that all of us have had our share of bad relationships and heartache. Now, Darci and I are back together, Kathy and my bro are back together. I don’t think any of us have ever been happier. Maybe we all just needed to understand how much we needed each other, time to truly appreciate what we have. I told them all the other day when a medical matter came up for Kathy, I had texted my bro, told him that I loved him, and was thinking of him. I then called our mother, she told me about Kathy. My bro texted me back about Kathy, asked me to pray. I told him “I already was, mom had just told me. I guess that is why I was thinking of you, love you” I went on to say “the Lord would not finally put us all, where we were always meant to be, to then take away what we needed all along. Perhaps we all need to consider Him more. I know I do……”

I then said “God is good, and Jesus loves us more than we could ever dream or imagine. We are truly blessed, can you imagine after all these years, He cared enough for each of us so very much (not just us as a whole, but each of us individually) to put us each, in the situation to bring us together, after all these years of failing to do it ourselves? He is truly AWESOME, I can’t thank Him enough, nor could I ever, not just for what He has done for Darci and I, but also for you bro, and Kathy. You have no idea how many years I wished and hoped you’d wake up to what I knew so long ago, just by observing your relationships and the girls you dated the longest. I truly could not be happier for you bro, you deserve it. My happiness for you is equaled only by my own happiness for Darci and I.”

To truly understand what the Lord has done, let me point out. I am in my late 40’s, I was in my late 20’s when the Lord was telling me things about me, my future, etc. things that I am only now, understanding what He meant, and that He had been talking to me then about Darci. Not just talking to me about her, He told me things then, about what He wanted from me. Things that I have only learned since Darci and I got together at Thanksgiving of this last year, (2011) what He meant by the things, He told me then. I have this thing, like I said, I remember everything. He told me things then, that He knew I would not understand till now, some of those things, it’s amazing. The understanding, of some of those things He told me then, comes with some simple little statement she makes now, that ties in with what He told me then. When this happens, it hits me like a ton of bricks, so that is what He meant. One of those things, understanding came when I was doing her genealogy and I looked up the meaning of her name. He knew I would not understand it till I did, so He put me in the situation that caused me to get into genealogy. It was long after He had told me what He did about her in this instance, that I became interested in genealogy. Had I not gotten into genealogy a number of years ago. I would never have looked up what her name meant, as I did a few weeks ago. I can look back now, and see how He tried with us all, to get us together, straighten us out, practically our whole lives. We were all just too caught up in ourselves, I would bet all of us had all but given up on love, happiness, when He was finally able to open us all up, to what we needed to do, to get where we needed to be.

For those that think the Lord does not interfere in the affairs of men, or believe, that He does not deal with individuals. You better think again. I have learned in the last 20+ years there are no coincidences in this life, there are only things that we fail to understand their meaning. Do not ever doubt the love of God, nor Jesus. Jesus’ love surrounds us, it is in everything He created.

God bless and keep you all, always, in all your ways. I hope that each of you who read this find the love and happiness, we have all found in Jesus!

God’s Blessings on America, Be Thankful, and It is because of all of you!

Gratitude bestows reverence, allowing us to encounter everyday epiphanies, those transcendent moments of awe that change forever how we experience life and the world. ~ John Milton

Why you may ask do I love America? Why you may ask, do I thank God, that he and his Son set aside a place in the world, that became this great nation, that would become known as America?

This America, that would be the light of freedom and liberty the world over? Not only, would this America become a beacon of freedom and hope the world over, as no other nation in the history of man! It would also become the most prosperous nation that had ever been, being also a beacon of prosperity and goodness the world over. Why do you think that God has allowed this nation to prosper in all of these things? Why is it, that America is always the first to respond, anywhere the world over when disaster hits? Why is it that Americans are the most giving, most charitable people of anywhere in the world?

First, and foremost of all, it is because of the principles of Jesus Christ, that founded this great nation. This nation that we, and so many around the world love! It is because of those principles that allowed, nay, not allowed, but commanded that our Framers set forth the selfsame principles they had learned in the Bible!

The principles of freedom, justice, equality, personal rights and responsibilities, pursuit of happiness, co-equal branches of government, 3 to be exact, they believed in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. They set forth, these selfsame principles in the documents that became our Constitution, and our Bill of Rights. Never before, in the history of man had any other nation set forth on this path, nor made the choices, that brought about this nation, we all love! This path, that would lead millions of people to the shores of this great land, many dying in their attempts to come to the beacon of hope for mankind, that is America!

The bible taught that Jesus set the captives free! The bible taught, that God is not a respecter of persons. The bible taught, that we are to be blessed, the definition of blessed is to be happy! I challenge you to find me a more truly happy person, than anyone who truly lives a Christian life. I have known many Christians, many different kinds of Christians, I have known every other kind of person in my life, and none are as genuinely happy as those, that truly walk with Jesus, all the time. No, I am not one of those, I am working towards that goal.

Why in all the world, is this the place, where all people, of all nationalities, creeds and beliefs come to be free? Why in all the world, is this the place, that draws those people seeking that freedom to come? It is because God so loved the world, not part of the world, but all of the world. Why would He, if He were not involved in the daily struggles of man, why would He, give His only Son as a sacrifice, as an example, as an inspiration, as a Saviour to the world? Why would He, if He, who is so great, did not care about the daily struggles of man?

Why you may ask do I, like He, love America? He has shown that love, by shedding His blessings on her. In doing so, He has allowed America to prosper in such a way, that another principle from the bible became fulfilled, in that city that is set on the hill, that beacon of light and freedom that is America, to become a reality. The bible speaks of you prospering even as your soul prospers.

In setting forth these principles it allowed America to be that great city, because He loved not only America, not only Israel, but also all the world! Why did He do this you may ask?  Perhaps I can answer, in why do I love America? Why do I now fight to get us back, to those selfsame principles, that has allowed God to bless us, and the world thru us, so greatly? Why do I struggle, to also put forth, these principles in the things I write? Why do I do these things? Why should I care? Why do I pour out my passion and my heart in the things I write?

It is because of all of you. It is because I, like He, truly care about everyone of you! Not only do I care about all of you America, it is because of all of you, wherever you are. You who are genuinely sweet, good and kind individuals. You who have touched my heart so deeply, and so genuinely so many times. In so many different ways, in so many different places. It is because of our brave men and women in uniform, and the honor and dignity they show.

To all Military members, their families, both past and present!

So why do I fight for conservative principles? It is because those principles come from the bible, but not only that, it is because conservatives, as we know them today in America, have proven with, not only their words, but from their actions, that they are truly the most caring, charitable people on the face of the planet. With their giving, with their time, with their hearts. Where do people come in the world for freedom? Where do people come in the world, to market their products? Where do freedom loving people, the world over turn? To you America, to you.

What therefore is the answer to all of these questions? It is because of all of you.

“From the time of the Declaration of Independence, the American People were bound by the laws of the gospel of Jesus Christ, which they all acknowledge as the root of their conduct. We all came together to obey the word of God.” ~ John Quincy Adams

Why our Forefathers firmly believed that Freedom and Liberty came from God
Christianity and the Founding of the United States the Simple Truth

So many times I hear people say “God Bless America”, American’s should say much more, “Thank You God for America and Your Many Blessings on US!”

If we who have been so very blessed lose our freedom in America, it will also be, because of all of US! We should all humble ourselves, thank Him always and be ever mindful of His grace and mercy upon US.

Now more than ever before, the people are responsible for the character of their Congress. If that body be ignorant, reckless and corrupt, it is because the people tolerate ignorance, recklessness and corruption. If it be intelligent, brave and pure, it is because the people demand them in the national legislature. If the next centennial does not find us a great nation, it will be because those who represent the enterprise, the culture, and the morality of the nation do not aid in controlling the political forces.” ~ James Abram Garfield

Thank God for America and may God bless and keep you all, wherever you may be. May God bless America and keep our light shining bright, the last great hope for mankind!
