To the Doctors, Nurses and Healthcare Professionals We Thank You!

I am duty bound to acknowledge the people of the healthcare profession who everyday do the Lord’s work in saving and / or extending life. I recently experienced some trouble myself that put me in ICU at Hillcrest South Hospital.  I use a nebulizer and the medicine I was given was not effective, I used it to the point of causing myself respiratory failure, because instead of helping me it made it worse. My wife tried to get me to go to the emergency room, me being a man, of course I refused. She then called my father, who she knew if I listened to anyone it would be him. He didn’t ask me to go, he just called the ambulance and told me I was going. Actually the way it went is he told me I needed to go to the hospital. I told him I would, he told me he knew I would because he’d already called the ambulance.

The hospital in the small town I live outside of had no ICU so the doctors (Prytkov & McMasters) at the emergency room started calling hospitals to find an ICU that could take me. Meanwhile they had put me on a ventilator using a mask. I kept removing the mask, after tying it and doing various other things to keep me from removing it, the doctor decided to put me in a medical coma so they could continue trying to help me. I was completely out of it, I knew nothing of what was going on. The ambulance in this small town also did not have a ventilator, I would say all part of the rationing taking place since the democrats passed Obamacare. They therefore called another ambulance service to transport me to Tulsa.

The doctors initially thought I had pneumonia, when they got me to Tulsa they put me on the ventilator where they put the tube down into my lungs and also put me on a feeding tube. I am told they could see my body was fighting the ventilator still although I was in the medical coma. One of the ICU nurses (Tyson) then asked in they could paralyze me so my body would quit fighting the help they were trying to give me. The doctor ok’d the procedure so they used the same drug they use in lethal injection (or so I am told) Mydazolam, pretty amazing what doctors can do these days.

There are many health professionals I need to thank at Hillcrest Cushing and Hillcrest South. To name a few I want to thank Doctors Jerome, Worley and Regan Vaughan who each played a key role in my recovery. I also want to thank the many nurses including Melissa, Tyson, Brett, Marcus, Todd, Veronica, Mike and many others, the respiratory therapists, the many who drew blood including the one who told me she is called the vampire cause she could draw blood on anyone, and who thereafter when she would come I would ask her is she was feeling hungry again. The sweet little housekeeper who told me bless you each time she came in an left. I also want to thank the night nurse Debbie who I, my wife and mother had a number of Bible discussions with.  Mike, David, Todd, and the many others who gave me breathing treatments.

I must say as many of them would probably attest I am not the best patient to try to help, and I am certainly not the most gracious when it comes to hospital food. I do thank you all though for putting up with me and helping me when I was unable to help myself. For the countless hours you in the healthcare profession spend caring for those like me! We thank you all for your selfless giving, time and attention, you would truly have to be called of the Lord to do a profession where there is little recognition and even littler thanks for all you do. I also must not forget to thank the case management people who worked tirelessly to help me get the things I needed so I could attend church on Easter Sunday which happens to be my spiritual birthday and which I needed more than anything else at the time.

Again thank you all at Hillcrest South and Hillcrest hospitals who do such good work and care so much for the people put in your care. God bless and Jesus keep you all, always!

I And My Father Are One; As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father

My Father and I are One

“I and my Father are One”

I spent a bit of time this last week having some Bible discussions in the hospital, one particular case was where I was talking to an RN and she talked about the Trinity and how she believes the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost are all Three the same being, or entity. This always amazed me the Trinity people vs the Oneness people because they essentially believe the same, yet according to most of them, they would argue they believe the opposite. Now whether you believe all three are one or whether you believe one is all three, the arguments are cutting the hairs pretty thinly.

The way I believe and most people I’ve ever been in church with believe the simple truth with Jesus himself admonished people not to get away from the simplicity that is in Christ Jesus. The Bible plainly says there are two in the Godhead. God the Father and Christ Jesus the Son. The Holy Ghost is the Life, Spirit and Love of the Father that Christ Jesus must baptize everyone with for them to be born-again. Born-again, given a new life, given a new spirit and thereby given a new love that comes from the Father, through the Son. No one cometh to the Father, but by me.

The Bible plainly says: God is the head of Christ, Christ is the head of man, and man is the head of the woman. Putting aside mane being the head of the woman for the point of this piece I am writing. God i.e. the Father, being the head of Christ Jesus the Son. Christ Jesus the Son being the head of man. That puts two in the Godhead, not three, man is not a god, nor is man the Prince of Peace, nor is man the Everlasting Father, Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God!

In another example it talks of the woman following the man as the man follows Christ Jesus’ example, words, etc. When it talks of I and my Father being “One”, that is speaking of heart, mind, ability, nature, spirit, love, work, etc.

For example; My mother and father have two children, my brother and I. My brother, he has mainly the characteristics of our mother, they do not take anything from anyone, and will jump right back at anyone who dares cross them or those they care for. I on the other hand have more of the characteristics of our father, we are more forgiving, laid back and yielding. My father has done HVAC work practically his whole life, he had a large HVAC business in the Tulsa / Broken Arrow area for many years. Our parents because of the distance from where we live, mom being secretary / bookkeeper of the business for dad, took my brother and I out of public school when I, myself was twelve years old. My brother and I went to work part time for dad and they enrolled us in homeschool so that we could  also do our studies and fulfill their obligations to educate us.

My brother disliked HVAC immensely and eventually he parted ways with the business and finally found his calling as a heavy equipment operator and quarry man.

Personally, I loved working for my father, and I have spent most of my life doing the same work as he. This is not the only area though where “I and my Father are One” You watch our actions in Church for instance, the way we move, clap, and countless other things, the sound of our voices as we sing, you can easily mistake my voice for his. Again; “I and my Father are One” There are many other character traits, actions, words, ideals, the way we see various and numerous things, issues, etc. Again; “I and my Father are One”

You get to know the times and various other things concerning our sleeping habits. Again; “I and my Father are One”

You get to know our wives, even our wives are one like the other in countless ways. Again; “I and my Father are one”  You get to know us by our demeanor, our silences, our utterings, our attentions. Again; “I and my Father are One”. You look even at the type of television shows, sports, etc. we watch. Again; “I and my Father are One”

No, my Father and I are not the same person, nor are we exactly alike in every aspect of our thinking, hearts, minds, lives. There are many small, insignificant and minor differences between my Father and I. However, in every point that counts, that goes to make up a mans character, sense of duty, motivations that drive us, our passions, etc. Yes! I and my Father are indeed “One”!

SURE FOUNDATION:

A sermon preached at the Quakers’ Meeting:-House in Grace-Church Street, London, Oct. 10, 1694.

BY WILLIAM PENN, WITH HIS EXCELLENT PRAYER.

THE foundation of God standeth sure; and they that build sure, must build upon it. This hath been God’s great love to us, in this day, age and generation, that he has laid for us this sure foundation, that which in all ages the people of God have been built upon, and have been preserved in all the storms and tempests that have been raised, both from within and without. They who are fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God, are built upon the foundation of the prophets and apostles, ‘Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;’ in whom all the building fitly framed together, groweth unto a holy temple in the Lord, Ephes. 2:20.

Friends, I exhort you in the name and power of the living God, mind this foundation, upon it do you build all your hopes of salvation. The living power and truth of the living God, is that which visited us in the beginning, and gathered us out of that which is evil, into that which is holy, pure and precious: blessed are you that feel, and experimentally know this visitation of the Lord, within you, from day to day, and from one season to another: this is that wherein stands your refreshment, your consolation, your succour and relief in all the times of temptation wherein the enemy of souls goes about, like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.’ This subtle enemy is always waiting how he may break into God’s vineyard, and lay waste and spoil the heritage of the Lord; but by his divine Light and Spirit, and the Word of his Grace, they shall be preserved. This is the word which you read of in Rom. 10:8 and mentioned by Moses, Deut. 30:14. ‘The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart:’ that is, the word of faith which we preach, that is that word of God by which you and all God’s people have been preserved in all ages and generations. Here is the foundation of peace and love, of purity and holiness; they that come to build on this foundation, they see it to be a sure foundation, by the brightness of Christ’s appearance, by the manifestation of the son of God. For ‘God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined into our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God, in the face of Jesus Christ.’ This is the foundation; in building upon which, our souls can find peace and satisfaction. This is revealed and made known by the sovereign almighty arm, and power and wisdom of the Eternal God. This is that which I would leave among you; build upon the right foundation, even upon the Lord Jesus Christ, the blessed Son of God. God sent his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin condemned sin in the flesh; that you may all come to be justified freely; by his grace, and led by the spirit of God as the children of God: that you may walk in the spirit, and not fulfill the lusts of the flesh, for ‘if ye live after the flesh (says the apostle) ye shall die; but if you through the spirit mortify the deeds of the body ye shall live’ Rom. 8:13. The spirit of God is a spirit of purity, holiness, righteousness and self-denial; that will lead you through the straight gate, and in the narrow way, that leads to life.

Friends, this is the work that God hath called you to, even to build upon the right foundation; this is the day of God’s love, the day of his power, wherein you are to be a willing people that this work may be carried on in your hearts, the knowledge you have in religion, it must be experimental; for historical knowledge only, will not do; for that is a knowledge of the concern of others, and not our own. Let us highly prize and value the saving knowledge of God, and Jesus Christ, which is life eternal: let us look unto Christ within us, who is the light that discovers the works of darkness, and leads us out of them. Know God’s foundation, and build well upon it, not hay and stubble, which will be consumed by fire. I beseech you, in the name of the everlasting God, build upon the true foundation, Christ within you, the hope of glory, which is a mystery hid from ages and generations. Our Lord Jesus Christ said to his disciples a little before his departure; ‘If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you to myself; that where I am, there you may be also.’ It is he, that dwelt in the hearts of the primitive Christians of old, and it is he, that dwells in his people now; he can open in our hearts a living fountain, a well of water springing up unto everlasting life. The Lord Jesus Christ is the great physician, that can cure all our spiritual maladies, and he is willing and ready to help us: come under his teaching, and guidance, and he will show you the path of life, and lead you in the way everlasting. Behold, he stands at the door and knocks; do you open your hearts to him, and he will come in, and sup with you, and you with him. He is calling you to repentance, to turn from sin, and come to Him that you may have life; he will lay judgment to the line, and righteousness to the plummet, and bring down the man of sin in us, and raise us up to the love of God, and faith in God; that we may deny all ungodliness and worldly lusts , and everything that is contrary to the mind of God, that so we may love the Lord our God with all our heart, with all our mind, and with all our soul. And if we love God with all our minds, we must not give our minds to anything else; and if we love God with all our might and strength, we must love nothing but in subordination to him: we must love all things in God, and love God above all things, then we shall come truly to know that the Lord is our God. Matt. 7:24. Our Saviour speaking of building upon the right foundation, ‘Whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doth them; I will liken him to a wise man that built his house upon a Rock, (and this Rock is Christ himself,) and the rains decended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon the House, and it fell not; for it was founded on a rock.’ Such an one, that heareth Christ’s sayings, and doth them, he builds upon Christ the Rock of our salvation: upon this foundation did the holy patriarchs build; and upon this Rock and Foundation did the holy prophets build.

God told Elijah, 1 King 19:18. ‘Yet have I left seven thousand in Israel, that have not bowed unto Baal.’ Have a care of idolatry, of spiritual idolatry of loving any sin or lust: let Christ have your hearts, and the strength and flower of your love and affections, and build upon him alone who is the true foundation. Do not content yourselves with an external possession; labour to come and experience the work of regeneration, that you may know you are born again, born of the spirit, and are passed from death to life, and live in obedience to the commands of Christ, for he is the Author of eternal salvation, to all them that obey him. Have you known the terrors of the Lord? ask yourselves, am I so terrified, as to be persuaded to turn from that which would turn me from God? am I turned from that; which would eclipse God’s light in my soul? If thou art turned from sin to righteousness, thou art not a canter, thou art not an enthusiast; thou art a true child of God; and a work of regeneration is not only begun in thy soul, but thou art going on to perfection, and thou hast laid the foundation of repentance from dead works, and repentance towards God, and faith towards our Lord Jesus Christ, our great mediator and redeemer, who is the way, the truth and the life: and if thou be faithful to death, he will give thee the crown of life.

Let us take heed to ourselves, and watch against the enemy of our souls, that he may not seduce us and bewilder us, and make us wander and lose our way, while we are travelling through the wilderness of this world, toward the heavenly Canaan. The same almighty arm, that brought us out of Egypt, will conduct us through the wilderness, and bring us safe to Canaan: our heavenly Joshua, the Lord Jesus Christ, will be our captain and leader, and after all our labours and dangers and conflicts with potent enemies in our way, he will bring us to the good land, to that kingdom that cannot be shaken; that inheritance, that is incorruptible, and undefiled, and fadeth not away: then we shall know our lot, and sing praises, living praises, with joy in our hearts, and harps in our hands, and worship Him that liveth forever and ever, saying, ‘blessing, honour, and glory, and power, to him, that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb forever and ever! worthy is the Lamb, that was slain, to receive power and riches, wisdom and strength, honour, glory, and blessing; who hath redeemed us to God by his blood, out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;’ and hath made us to our God kings and priests.— We must now believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, with a faith that worketh by love; we cannot be saved by a dead faith, but by a living faith : and as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. If we believe in the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved from sin, and from the wrath to come: ‘unless you believe in me (said our Saviour to the Jews) ye shall die in your sins.’ They that live in their sins, will die in them: blessed are they that mortify their sins, and that die to sin, that they may die in the Lord, and live forever with the Lord! happy are they, that are found in Christ (in a dying hour) not having their own righteousness, they shall be accepted of God; not for any righteousness of their own, but for the righteousness of Christ, who hath all righteousness to justify us, and will by his spirit work righteousness in us, and will be sanctification to us, ‘ he that knew no sin, was made sin for us, that we might be made the righteousness of God in him ;’ and the apostle tells us, that Christ is made to us of God, wisdom, righteousness, sanctification, and redemption: O glory, and honour, and eternal renown, be to our Lord Jesus Christ, who is all in all to us!

O friends, you that are an humble people, that mourn for sin, that are merciful, meek, and lowly, and poor in spirit, and pure in heart; our Lord Jesus Christ in his sermon on the mount hath pronounced a blessing on you: ‘blessed are the poor in spirit; for theirs is the kingdom of Heaven: blessed are they that mourn, for they shall be comforted: blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth: blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy: blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.’ Matt. 5. O friends, you that have tasted, that the Lord is gracious, come unto Christ, as the true and sure Foundation : come unto him, as a Living Stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious; you also as lively stones, shall be built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God, by Jesus Christ: unto you (saith the apostle) that believe, Christ is precious. Wherefore it is written, Isa. 28:16. ‘Thus saith the Lord God, behold I lay in Zion for a Foundation Stone, a tried Stone, a precious Corner Stone, a sure Foundation.’ He that believeth, shall not make haste: trust in this sure Foundation, you know that it hath never failed you. O lay not a new foundation, depart not from this sure Foundation, the Lord Jesus Christ; but say unto him, as Peter, when many disciples went back, and walked no more with him ; ‘Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.’ Thus, by believing in Christ, and building upon this sure Foundation, you will bring honour and glory to his blessed name, and obtain salvation for your immortal souls.

Blessed is he that overcometh,(not he that is overcome,) he that overcometh, shall inherit all things. Blessed is he that overcometh the world, that overcomes the devil, and that overcometh sin, that overcomethh is lusts, his concupiscence, and all ungodliness and unrighteousness. Rev. 2:7. ‘To him that overcometh, will I give to eat of the Tree of Life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.’ It is the desire of my soul, that you may overcome, and be more than conquerors, through Christ, that hath loved you and washed you from your sins, in his own blood: and that you persevere, and continue in well doing to the end of your days, and then lay down your heads in peace, and enter into an everlasting rest, where there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying, nor pain, nor mourning; but God shall wipe away all tears from your eyes. And you that have been mourners in Zion, shall sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb, saying, ‘Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty! just and true are thy ways, thou King of Saints ; who shall not fear thee and glorify thy name, for thou only art holy!’

Thus, my friends, you will bless the Lord forever, that hath visited your souls, when you come to obtain, through our Lord Jesus Christ, salvation and eternal glory; and join in the innumerable company of angels, and the spirits of just men made perfect, in celebrating the praises of his great and excellent name: who alone is worthy; who is God over all, blessed for ever more! Amen.

HIS PRAYER AFTER SERMON.

MOST Blessed, Glorious, Eternal and Incomprehensible Lord God, we desire to worship, and humbly adore thy excellent Majesty, whose gracious and favourable presence is with all thine, that wait upon thee, and desire to serve thee in the beauties of holiness. Thou hast mercifully made known thyself in this day of thy power and love, to a willing people, that delight to worship thee in spirit and in truth; the desire of whose souls is to thee only, and to the remembrance of thy name, that hunger and thirst, and look, and long for thy appearance.-— Blessed God, thou hast appeared, and thy appearance is glorious: Thou hast wonderfully appeared in the beams of gospel-light and grace, and caused not only the blessed gospel to dawn upon us, but thou hast been pleased to make thy glory to shine upon us, in the face of Jesus Christ, the dear Son of thy love; and by the mighty and powerful working of thy Holy Spirit, thou hast enlightened us with the saving knowledge of thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent, which is Life Eternal. The desire of our souls is after thee, more than after all things besides thee: Lord thou hast raised these living desires in our souls, and fervent breathings after thee, the living God. It is the most sincere and earnest desire of our souls to draw nigh to thee, that thou mayest draw nigh to us, and bless us; and that our services may be accepted, and well pleasing to thee through Jesus Christ. Lord, be graciously pleased to bow down thy people by thy mighty power, to a holy submission and resignation to thy heavenly will; and lift up the light of thy countenance upon all those, that breathe after communion with thee, that are thy peculiar people, and whom thou has set apart for thyself, and whom thou hast raised up to be monuments of thy mercy, and instruments of thy praise. There are many here present can say, that thou hast been very good unto them; thou hast caused joy to spring up in their souls in all the sorrows and troubles that have attended them. O how liberally hast thou distributed of thy light and love! thou hast opened a living fountain, and with living streams thou hast consolated and refreshed their souls, under their many trials and temptations. O God of my life, I beseech thee, bless all thy people, all that have believed in thy dear Son, Jesus Christ; draw nigh to all those that desire to come into the fellowship of thy truth; open thy hand, and dispense thy mercies liberally to us, that every one of us may know, that we receive from thy infinite fullness, and have all our supplies from thee. Let us be abundantly satisfied with thy loving kindness, which is better than life; and fed with the hidden manna; and eat of the bread that came down from Heaven, that whosoever eats of it shall never die, but live forever. Let thy mighty arm and power, O Lord, be revealed, and thy love shed abroad upon our hearts! preserve us and all thy people in the hollow of thy hand, and under thy Pavilion, from the fury and rage of the enemy, and from the strife of tongues. Compass us about with thy favour, as with a shield, and surround us with thine everlasting arms, that the enemy of our souls nay not approach us. O Lord, frustrate the designs of that adversary, that like a roaring lion goes about continually seeking whom he may devour. Lord hear all those that cry to thee in the depth of their distresses and afflictions, and help, and succour, and comfort, and support them, and deliver them in the needful time: show them the path of life; keep them from every evil way, and lead them in the way everlasting; and let them walk therein, and not be weary and faint in their minds; looking up to Jesus, the author and finisher of their faith; who for the joy, that was set before him, endured the cross, and despised the shame; who is a merciful high priest, that cannot but be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; that was tempted as we are, that he might succour those that are tempted. Let us follow the Captain of our salvation, who was made perfect through sufferings, having the kingdom of grace in our hearts, and kingdom of glory in our eyes; and by a patient continuance in well doing, seek after glory and honour, immortality and eternal life. Let thy kingdom come in power, and thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven! we pray thee, sanctify all such opportunities, as these, unto thy people, and teach them to profit, and so to hear, that their Souls may live.

We cannot open the hearts of men; it is Thou, O Lord alone, that canst open their hearts: Thou hast the key of David, that canst open, and none can shut; and shut, and none can open. Man can do nothing of himself; it is thou, O Lord, that dost all. Prosper the labours of thy servants in the ministry of this nation, and in all the nations that are nigh, and afar off, where any are gathered to wait Upon thee: Lord, be thou in the midst of them; let every plant of thine own planting, grow, and bring forth fruit to thy praise. Send forth thy light, arid thy truth, and let thy glorious gospel have a free course, and be glorified. Be with those that cannot come to the solemn assemblies of thy people, let them be taught of God: those that lie upon beds of languishing, do thou heal and recover them; let them near the voice of thy rod, and not only receive correction, but instruction, and be taught by thy Spirit to improve their afflictions, that they may thankfully and joyfully say, it is good for us that we were afflicted. Pity “those that are wounded with the sense of their sin, and pour oil into their wounds and speak peace unto them, and pardon, and wash them in the precious blood of Jesus, which cleanseth from all sin; and prepare them for the everlasting enjoyment of thyself in the region of blessedness, where all tears shall be wiped from their eyes, and sorrow and sighing shall be no more. Let the knowledge of the Lord cover the earth, as the waters cover the sea: finish transgression, and make an end of sin, and bring in everlasting righteousness! Lord, let the fear and dread of thy blessed majesty fill the hearts of all the inhabitants of this land, that thou mayest delight to dwell in the midst of us, and bless us. O Lord God Almighty, be pleased to go along with us, to the respective places of our abode, and let thy presence abide with us; and let salvation be for walls and bulwarks round about us! Lord, sprinkle the posts of the doors of thy servants, and sprinkle our hearts and consciences with the blood of the Immaculate Lamb, that the destroying angel may pass by: and preserve all thy people in the hollow of thy hand, and under the wing of thy love, that they may lie down in peace and safety, and extol and magnify thy great and excellent name, who hast extended thy favour to them and preserved them, when they have passed through the great waters, and mighty deeps, where thou hast showed them thy wonderful power, and great salvation: let their souls magnify thy name, and their spirits rejoice in thee, their God and Saviour, who didst preserve thy people Israel at the sea, even at the Red sea, and caused the waters on the right hand and on the left, to stand up as a wall, while they passed through the sea on dry land, and made their hearts glad, and to rejoice in thy great salvation, and triumph in thy praise. Honour and glory be ascribed to thy great and holy name, for that, thou hast of late delivered thy people as in days of old. Let them not go back again into Egypt; but be travelling on to the heavenly Canaan; and in thy good time do thou give them rest, after all their labours, travels, distresses and troubles; and let them sit down under their vines and fig-trees, and eat the fruits of their own labours; and of thy bounty and beneficence, and glorify thy name* with solemn praises, and heavenly conversation. And, blessed God, satisfy the desires of their souls, with respect to their inward, and spiritual state and condition, whose minds are exercised, about making their calling and election sure; that they may at last obtain life everlasting; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Something I shared in a number of posts on Facebook, I think I should share with everyone…

When it comes to problems, some people need to grow up, stop blaming others, and look in the mirror.

The world, your parents, or others don’t owe you anything. As Mark Twain said of the world, it was here first….You should learn to appreciate and be grateful for what you DO get.

It’s outrageous the way some think only of themselves and never consider others, what others have done for them, or how they have had to do without themselves to do what they’ve done for you.

Quit crying, grow up and know most of your problems in life were created by YOUR choices, YOUR ideals, and YOUR actions.

And after you do all that. get down on your knees and THANK God that He has blessed you all He has, because He NEVER gives us what we deserve, only… as someone else said, “what we can handle.”

And ALWAYS remember, “To whom much is given, much is expected!”

Also Thank God for the little good that is in any of us, because it is only by His grace that ANY of us are ANY good what-so-ever.

Who remembers when an exclamation of surprise was “Well, bless my soul” instead of something that contained profanity.

We would all do well to practice those things that our parents and grandparents understood, words do matter and you will be judged for every one you speak…

And remember to always consider what you are teaching your little children with your words. Because between the ages of 10-30 you will be able to teach them little, unless they are a rare child indeed. (These days anyway)

Song was just brought to my mind. “Learning to lean and depend on Jesus, for he’s my friend, and he’s my guide…” He gave / gives so much for / to each of us. None of us should ever have reason to complain about anything…

As He has shown me in my life, everyone else will fail you, in some way, at some point, you will EVEN fail yourself.

Only He knows, understands and is truly able to help in anything concerning you.

I spent years feeling bad because I didn’t have hardly any TRUE friends, then I began to understand the ONLY friend I really need is Him. Then all the fussing, fretting, worry, strife, etc. disappeared.

“There are plenty of people even more friendless than you; in fact everybody is glad to meet a friendly person, but they have no use for a self-absorbed person. What you need is less egotism but more self-confidence, and to regard yourself less as a claimant for sympathy than as a bestower of it to those who need it. Something else to remember…

When you are talking about others…God is also speaking about you, to you.

This as an older minister I admire told me when I told him it was happening to me…he told me this is wisdom speaking to me…

You should see how your words about others, or in general, also apply and/or applies to you. I will give you a hint, they usually have an application to apply to you, yourself.

God will give you what you truly want at times, at least that which is truly in your heart,

So if you don’t like what is taking place in your life, search out your heart and learn what is truly contained there.

In other words, be careful what you wish for, and out of the abundance of his heart, a man / person speaketh.

If you’re always looking for perfection in men or others in the present or the past, you will never find any good in anyone.

There is only one who was truly perfect and we can still find Him today at the same place He occupied some 2000 years ago, On the Cross, at the foot of the Cross.

This is the only place you will ever find true happiness in this life, the only happiness that will ever matter.

She told me she loved me. She said I was her darling. She said I was more to her than all the boys in the world. She said I was all her own. Then she said I was handsome, and prophesied that years would bring health and position. She did more—she kissed me. Into that kiss she put the feeling of a life-time; all the hopes of an eternity.

When sickness came she was present—ready like a ministering angel to wait or serve. Her kindly hand drawn softly across the fevered brow stole away the fever and deadened the pain. She would hold the patient’s hand in hers till he was calm enough to sleep, and then with that hand in his he would dream of a life without sickness and disappointments. After a long while he would waken to find her still there, holding his hand. “You have had a good sleep?” Yes. But how much of it was due to that waiting, sitting presence that never moved while the sleep lasted?

Years passed. I grew older, she grew older. There was no separation. I needed her, she needed me, so the life of service continued. The home was mine, the service was hers. The position was mine, the satisfaction was hers. She knew no life but the life she lived in me and for me. Every service done for me was to her full of beauty. She did not care to be seen as long as I was noticed, or heard while I was listened to. First in the morning to make all things ready, last at night to see that all things were safe.

People wondered why she was so quiet, they thought it strange she never came to the front. She gave no reasons. She knew; I knew. I was the fruit of her work, her waiting and nursing. She had preserved my life; without her the feeble spark would have gone out. She found her life in mine. Mine was younger, more expressive and up-to-date, and therefore she was content. If I spoke well it was because she had acted well. If I had climbed to a position it was because she had given me the strength to climb. If my life was public it was because hers had been so faithfully private.

Still the years passed, years that will never be described in book 01 on platform. They were our years. With them the public never had any business and never will have. Our home life was sacred. Those who tried to look through the key hole did it to their sorrow. We kept our home as our temple, and told none of its mystic rites. The sacrifices we offered were our own. The prayers we spoke and the confessions we made were our own.

As we lived and worshipped and suffered I noticed she was not what she once was. Too much watching, too much service had weakened her physical powers— she was failing. Then her love had been too strong. It had burned so brightly that the frail lamp had cracked.

Her eyes lost their brightness, and the lines appeared on her face. The summer of life was passing—the autumn with its new tints, its shadows and falling leaves, was coming.

Yes, sadness was coming and we could not prevent it. We had journeyed together so long that we never thought the parting of the ways would come; but they did come. It is always the unexpected that happens. I must go, she must remain. The parting hour came— “goodbye.”

“Why do we say it when the tears are starting?
Why must a word so sweet bring only pain?
Our love seems all-sufficient till the parting,
And then we feel so impotent and vain.”

The embrace, the soft cheek pressed against mine’ the white face looking out of the window, the waving hand,and

“The deed is done,
But now I go and go alone.”

For her the change was too great. The dear, faithful soul could not bear to live with only the memories of the past around her. One year passed, and before I could receive word the white-robed minister had laid her to rest beside other weary pilgrims. He did it kindly, not officially, for he was not chosen because of his white robe. He had been a true friend in the days of sickness. And she sleep well, though her grave is not marked. Eight years have passed and no fresh flowers have been laid upon it. History will never know her name. Charity will never raise a monument to her virtues. She never was rewarded and never will be rewarded by material things, but

“From ouf the past
Looks forth that face to cheer me.
Oh, do not ask me to forget
If memory brings her near me,”

And away in the Golden West—seven thousand miles from that grave—there are two lives that flow in one channel; two hearts that beat in one rhythm—one quiet, the other public; one unknown, the other prominent—and their sweetest memories, their closest communion, their dreams of heaven are found in that one simple word—mother.

“Nearer and nearer day by day.
The distant voice doth come;
Soft through the pearly gate it swells
And seems to call us home.”

Another Inspirational Story From My Life When I Was Fourteen

Matthew5I must tell you all of a vacation my parents took my brother and I on when I was fourteen. It was meant to be a vacation to Jamaica for two weeks during Christmas break. You know fun in the sun, sailing, scuba diving, riding horses on the beach, etc., etc., Then, not long before we went, our parents informed us we were going to Haiti for a week first, and would only be in Jamaica a week. They informed us, the plans changed because some of our churches were having a fellowship meeting with the brothers and sisters in Haiti, and we would be attending. Now, being teenagers we weren’t too happy with the prospect of attending a church meeting, when we could be enjoying snorkeling, scuba, sailing, etc., so we complained and generally let our unhappiness be known, though we knew it would do us no good.

The time came and we flew out and went to Haiti, we had no idea what Haiti would be like, when we were flying in you could see the old wrecks, various iron objects and other obstacles in the surf, so we knew we most likely would not get to have fun in the ocean or go romping around on the beach. We landed and were driven to our hotel, it was called the El Presidente Hotel in Port-au-Prince. It was a grand structure, had walls 12+ inches thick made from some kind of white stucco like material. My brother and I walked through the foyer and out onto the balconies, there were three very large balconies that ran the length of the hotel and they were terraced out over the jungle in three step downs from each terrace to the next. On the third and last terrace when we got to the edge it was about a 50+ foot drop down to the floor of the jungle.

The wall around the edge of the terrace, like all the exterior hotel walls, were made from the white stucco, they were 12 plus inches thick and had pieces of broken glass bottles embedded in the top of the walls. This was kind of amazing to us, we had never seen anything like these walls with glass bottles that would cut you if you tried to climb on them. Now being the curious teenagers that we were, we found a way to get down through the terraces, by a set of steps that led us down to the jungle floor. We therefore descended these steps to see what we could find, when we reached the floor of the jungle, we couldn’t really see too much, other than the high wall to our left and a cleared area of the jungle that ran around the hotel. We then went walking around the wall to our left, till we got to where we could look around the corner.

There, we were astounded to see this middle aged native gentleman seated on a five gallon bucket, in front of him he had a pretty large rock, he was in the process of breaking up coral into powder (we assumed having been around construction our whole lives) to patch or build, more on these white stucco walls. The thing that so astounded us, he was doing this with only rocks, he was using the large rock in front of him to put smaller pieces of coral on, while pounding them to powder with the medium sized rock coral he had in his hands. This was amazing to us, this was obviously how they had made all the walls in the great and majestic hotel out of coral, not just that, but they didn’t use any mechanical equipment to do so. This was just one of the surprises we had waiting for us on our journey of discovery.

Not long after we had arrived we got to be friends with, or introduced to some of the native children that lived at the edge of the jungle just outside of, and below the hotel. They lived with other members of their family, I think there were about three or four adults, if my memory is correct. Where they lived was a little tin shack, couldn’t have been more than a twenty by twenty foot square, haphazardly; or so it seemed to us, thrown together with a few boards, nails, and covered with tin sheeting. They didn’t have any of the modern conveniences we were used to in America, they took showers outside in a little shower stall without a roof, also with tin on three sides. We would get up early and we were amazed to see what seemed like ten to fifteen children emerge from the small shack in the morning, we didn’t know how they found room to sleep.

One of the children we got to know really well, was named David, he would climb up in the tops of the tall palms around the edge of the terraces, they came up, to just about the height of the lowest terrace. At this point in the story, I will tell you in case you do not know, Haiti at the time was the second poorest nation in the world. David would climb up in these palms and clown around trying to get the tourists to throw him money, he was quite a character and my family got to know him quite well. If I remember correctly we even brought him into the hotel with us one time, because my parents wanted to give him something, might have been some clothes, can’t remember for sure. The thing about David, besides being an exceedingly sweet child, the whole time we were there the only clothes he wore, was a pair of short pants. The thing about the short pants was, they had no rear-end, the only thing left in the seat of his trousers were the seam and stitching holding it together, his buttocks were completely exposed. I remember my parents wanted to adopt him, he was amazingly creative and intelligent, he couldn’t have been more than ten years old.

The other children were not as brave as David I guess, for they didn’t attempt to climb up in the tops of the palms as David did, they would simply try to get us to throw them money down at the floor of the jungle around the outside terrace. My brother and I frequently obliged them throwing down the coins we had in our pockets, we both worked for our father in his HVAC business, so we had money of our own. In tossing change down to the others, there were probably about ten of them, I noticed the youngest and smallest one never got any of the change, and having been the youngest growing up among older boys, I had a soft spot in my heart for the youngest. I therefore attracted his attention to stay where he was, since he was some distance from the others, got them distracted with a few small coins and threw him down a quarter. He immediately scooped it up and took off through the jungle, the others realizing what I had done, took off after him. I hope still to this day he was able to keep it away from them, we left a day or two later, so I never knew for sure. I know he was fast. so I rest in the hope he did. I wouldn’t have wanted to do anything that would have made the others even meaner to him, than I had already witnessed.

During the camp meeting services we teenagers and children were not allowed to go into the church, I say church, it wasn’t like the churches you think of here in America. This was simply a large pavilion made with pillars to hold up the structure of the tin roof, and had no outside walls, so even though we were outside, it wasn’t much different than being inside, we could hear and see everything that was happening. We just weren’t able to sit on the pews under the roof and simply stood around the perimeter of the building. There wasn’t a lot of room left on the pews either, one of the other things that truly impressed us, the people were so hungry for the truth and the gospel, they doubled the amount of people you’d have seen in the pews in America, even when the pews were full here. What they did was, one person would sit back in the pew, the next would sit towards the front edge, the next sitting like the first, all the way back in the pew, so that they were staggered along the pew so more of them could sit, it was heart touching, their rapt attention of what was being said.

One of the other amazing things to my brother and I, as we were exploring around outside the pavilion while service was taking place. They had an outside toilet, which wasn’t nothing to my brother and I, since we had an outside toilet, i.e. outhouse, in the home we grew up in, when we first moved there. The houses bottom floor being built in 1896 and the top floor being built in 1906, there was no indoor plumbing until our father installed it after we moved in. I still remember what it was like when we first saw it, no one had lived there in years, it was truly like a haunted house you see in the movies, cobwebs everywhere, big snakes in cabinet drawers, etc. To get back to Haiti though, this outhouse they had was somewhat like you’d see in America in that there was a ladies bathroom and a men’s bathroom. They even had running water, so the quests could flush the toilets, however that is where the similarities ended, what really impressed us was how they obtained this running water. The running water was fed by gravity, there being two fifty five gallon barrels on the roof, one for the ladies, one for the men’s and there was a native gentleman on the roof that would take these five gallon buckets delivered to them by the native women, who carried the buckets to them on their heads. All this so the guests could have comfort, that they themselves did not enjoy.

The people were truly touching, their care and kindness, I will always remember fondly with a tender heart. One of the things that happened I had forgotten and was reminded of, a number of years ago when my parents were telling some friends about it. During the camp meeting, on one of the first nights. This native woman was selling penny candy, (or at least then it was penny candy) for people to buy in order to assuage their thirst, hunger and to protect others from your bad breath while services were going on. I remembered her well because when I first approached her about buying some of her candy, she tried to charge me a quarter each, for a penny piece of candy, not being too much of a young fool, I told her to forget it and she quickly went down to a penny on her price. I bought a bunch of candy from her, knowing me, probably a couple dollars worth.

Known among those who knew me best, I was an extremely generous soul when growing up, so I being me, I started giving candy to those native children around me during the church service, more came, I went and bought more candy, and continued to give it out to the children around me, it wasn’t long until there were what seemed like hundreds of children around wanting candy, so many that one of the ministers stood up to the pulpit and asked over the microphone “whoever is giving the native children candy, would you please stop”. I did, and the native children slowly went back to their neighborhoods.

One of the young men I met then, was about my age and we became fast friends, although I cannot remember his name now. He took it upon himself to be my “protector” and “guide”. Protector to make sure other natives didn’t take advantage of me like the candy lady had tried to do, and guide, to take me to wherever I wished to go, including into the native neighborhoods around where the church services were being held. I went with him and met many of the people, you couldn’t have asked for more genuinely sweet, good people. They lived in little comfort, the sewer consisted of a ditch that ran along the side of the thoroughfare, whether it was a road, path, or trail. Their garbage was heaped into a central pile that was continuously smoldering in the center of each neighborhood. It was really eye opening for a fourteen year old from America, it left quite an impression on me.

This young man I had met, spent the whole week with me, taking me to places most tourists never saw, he went to the markets with me and helped me with the bartering for the various souvenirs, I wanted to bring home. He was truly a good friend in the short time I knew him, one of the last things I did before I left was to give him a ten dollar bill for all the care and trouble he took for me, showing me around and helping me. I fully expect that ten dollars, if it didn’t set him up in some kind of small business, it lasted him for at least a year. Judging from what I knew of him the short time I was there, I expect he used it to further his life and made much more money from it.

One of the other things we did, some of the older church boys took some of us younger ones to what they said was a voodoo ceremony, now we were pretty skeptical, but I will say, there was this big chicken sitting on a stump not far from me, no visible ties holding it in place and all it did was move its eyes the whole time we were there, didn’t even move its head. I won’t go into detail on the other things that took place, it was pretty wild though I must say.

One of the other things I’ll tell you about it, as I mentioned the women carrying these five gallon buckets of water on their heads. My guide informed me, by the time a girl there grew to adulthood, they could carry 100 pounds on their heads. This fresh water they carried, there was one place in Port-au-Prince I saw where they could get it from, according to what I was told, the only place, was in downtown in the central square by where they had the market. The market isn’t like some market you see in America, this market was a vast complex of outdoor stalls that took up a large portion of downtown Port-au-Prince. The native women would come from miles around just to get five gallon buckets of fresh water to take back home to their families. They not only carried water in them though, they carried, sand, gravel, and numerous other things in them. The buckets weren’t the only things they carried on their heads either, they carried all of there large cumbersome loads on their heads. They would take a cloth, roll it up in a roll like a bandana, make a small circle with it to fit the crown of their heads, and would sit the buckets on these, thus creating a stable base for whatever they were carrying.

I could go on and on about my time in Haiti, I remember it so well, because of the impression it left on my young heart and mind. While I remember some things about Jamaica, I rarely go into detail about it, because it didn’t leave near the impression upon me that Haiti did, the main thing I remember fondly about Jamaica was my first time scuba diving, and the native lady who wanted to trade clothes with me on the beach because she liked my t-shirt with the smiling sun on it and the words “smile and the whole world smiles with you”. My mom bought me that t-shirt because I was always smiling when I was a youngster. Almost broke up one of my brothers school plays one time because my smiling in the audience caused my brother and the others on stage to laugh so much. Every young person in America should go to at least one country like Haiti while they are growing up, just to give them a perspective of how truly blessed they are to have been born here.

Mom and Dad, if I never told you. Thank you for changing our plans that year, you have no idea how I am touched by and hold onto the memory of the wonderful experiences I had, and the time we spent there. I love you both dearly, my life has been greatly blessed because you are my parents!

I’ll give you more when I do, things in my life spark these memories, I never know when I will be reminded of something that I have to share. Until then I will keep adding my history pieces that could be contemporary pieces in dealing with today’s problems, and other inspirational, patriotic and educational stories from history.

Never Judge a Book by it’s Cover: In memory of a great man I once knew

I have to write this in memory of a man I once knew in southern California. As I sat reading my Bible this morning, the Lord brought him back to my mind. This man, I met outside of a restaurant where my family, dad, mom, brother, and some others used to go after church. I used to go outside at times while I was waiting for the others to finish eating. I would run into various people while hanging out, waiting for the others.

One night, I met this man and started talking to him, he could quote me any scripture. It did not matter how hard I made it for him. I could give him a book, chapter and verse out of the Bible and he’d quote it to me verbatim. Even when I would make it hard for him and quote scripture myself, he could tell me exactly where it was in the Bible. I’d do things to try to trip him up, and he never failed to get it exactly right. I could quote him scriptures from various points in the Bible and he’d pick up on it. I used to marvel at how well he knew the Bible.

Judge not, that ye be not judged. For with what judgment ye judge, 
ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be 
measured to you. And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy 
brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine 
own eye? Matthew 7:!-3

The thing that really touched me, and caused me to remember him today is, you see, he was dirty, disheveled, talked to himself, and was homeless. The moral of the story, never judge a book by its cover, you may miss out on things that you marvel at your whole life, and the memory of, touches your heart as only the Lord can.

My uncle admonished me one time about how my brother and I always had friends that were low class or without class, if I had been as he admonished me to be, I would have missed out on knowing this man, who I now remember so fondly. I guess I got my love of the underdog from his sister, my mother. Moral: never avoid someone you may think beneath you, for to God, they may be above you, and you are just too blind to see, because of your high mindedness, thinking of yourself more than you are.

See, I never minded giving money to wino’s, or those who were homeless, even if I knew they would just go buy booze or whatever, as I told those who admonished me about it. Booze, etc., that is all that some of those people had, if any of them were taking advantage of me, I knew the Lord would honor my gift, whether he honored the ones who simply took advantage of me or not. Even if I felt the Lord wouldn’t honor, I would have done the same. It wasn’t up to me to judge, it was up to me, to do what the Lord laid it on my heart to do.

Now that I have told you about him, I’ll tell you of another, I also met this younger man one night who came up to me pushing a bicycle with a flat tire, he asked me if I had five dollars so he could get it fixed. I think I gave him ten, funny thing is, I was back at the same restaurant a couple of nights later. I went outside as I normally did, and this same young man came up to me, again pushing the bike with the flat tire. He tried to give me the same story again, I laughed at him, for I was incredulous he didn’t remember me and I told him I had just given him the money to fix it a couple nights before, and I wouldn’t be fooled again. Moral of this story: Don’t be a sucker either

It got me to thinking.

You know we can be in bondage to so many things in our lives, Let us pray the Lord Jesus help us to always choose liberty over bondage in all things. Help us Lord to free ourselves from those things we can and assist us in those that are beyond our direct control.

I wonder if perhaps too many of us have chosen bondage over liberty in various things or ways in our lives, if perhaps that could have something to do with our loss of liberty as a nation?

As I often say, God help us all! Help US to understand, gain a knowledge of and have the wisdom to change those things we aught and to gain that liberty passed down to us from our forefathers, that we now are in such need of.

Help us Lord to be true to thy precepts and to have thy wisdom to continue that mission which America was born for and for which God smiled on US so greatly, this nation we call the Land of the Free!

A Further Testament of the Love of our Lord Jesus Christ as shown in my life

To truly understand this, you should first read A testament of the love, of the Lord Jesus as this is basically a continuation of it.

UPDATE: For clarity and to cut down on confusion. This post is not about me, my life, or my love, it is simply about the goodness and love of the Lord, I am simply using events in my life to show this and share with you who read it, a testimony of His great love for us all.

The love of the Lord Jesus Christ is really amazing, incomprehensible, and real. As I partially told the journey that my brother, his now wife Kathy, I and my wife to be, Darci took to finally be together, I will now tell the latest little twist of Darci’s and my relationship along with a little history to make it understandable.

CoupleDarci and I have yet to marry (we’ve been together once again for over a year now), You should really read the link above at this point if you have not done so. We haven’t gotten married because I was still married to someone else. I have been trying to get a divorce for a little over 7 years. My exe (finally), skipped out and I was unable to locate where she was, so that I could serve her with divorce papers, I hired three different lawyers thru the years to get it done, however none of them were able. My exe and I adopted my son Danny, he was actually her sisters son. When my exe took off the second time, cleaning out my bank account and taking all that she did not take the first time. I asked him then, whether he wanted to go with her, with me, or spend half his time with her, and half with me. He chose to stay with me, he also made me promise, if I could not get a divorce where he did not have to visit my exe. I would then wait until he was eighteen, or at least until he was old enough to legally choose himself, before I got the divorce. I therefore, for the last number of years had given up trying to get the divorce, until he turned 16 when I thought, surely the judge would not make him see her, if  he did not choose to. Once again, I was unable to locate her, that is, until after Darci and I got together (Thanksgiving 2011), then here last summer one of her (my exe) nieces contacted Danny, (my son) on Facebook and we were able to get an address for her.

Marriage UnityNow, the Lord has worked it out to where the absolute earliest date Darci and I can get married is; this year on my birthday. It would have been in July, however, I got so sick last month, the night before I was supposed to go to court for the judge to hopefully sign off on my divorce decree, I ended up in the hospital. I therefore had to have the judge reschedule the hearing to sign off on my divorce decree, I wasn’t sure she (the Judge) was going to because of everything I had gone through before. To make a long story short, I told you all of this to show you how the Lord has worked it out (as only He could) I finally got the divorce decree signed this morning. In Okla. you have to wait 6 months from the day the Judge signs the decree to then be able to marry. Six months from that is Aug, 19th, my birthday. As I told Darci, my brother,  and my son, it just shows how thoughtful, caring, and humorous that the Lord is. He truly is amazing, I can never get over how much he obviously loves me, especially with the way I have been towards him at times. If I had all of the rest of time, I could never fully express my gratitude, thankfulness, and humility I have for him (or should have, I know I fall short) over all the things he has done in my life and others, to show his great love and affection for us all. Truly, who else could have worked it all out so perfectly, and to have him to basically tell me “happy birthday” and gift me with the person I have wanted most in my life outside of him and his father!?! I am truly dumbfounded and am at a total loss for words. It truly overwhelms me so that my thoughts leave me and all I can think of, is how truly wonderful and good he truly is!  I am speechless, forgive me….

Not Thrown Away

Let me just add, I hope with these blog posts on my life to show in some small way to each of you who read this. The great love of the Lord Jesus Christ and God his father has for each of you, not that I have for you, because honestly I do not even love Him as I should. For truly, if he loves me so much, he surely loves each of you just as much. I hope to help you see that love in your own lives if I possibly can, if you do not see it already.

Don’t be discouraged with Jesus, if things do not go your way

Don’t drink beer myself, however I like the message!

I have run into many people in my time on social media who let their problems, the world, various other things get them down. I would like to encourage you and tell you that no matter how bad it is, or it gets, Jesus is always there. He is the most approachable, understanding, caring, and humble person you will ever encounter. I heard one minister say, you can’t get to God, without going through His Son, who is the door. You can’t go above Jesus, because His name is higher than any other! You can’t go around Jesus, because His love is too broad, You can’t go under Jesus, because He is too humble. This is truly apropos.

There are numerous and various things in my life, that could, and would get me down, if I let them. However, by the grace of God and Jesus’ help, I do not. It is somewhat a matter of faith, and somewhat a matter of evidence. All I have to do is look at the things Jesus created around me in nature to see how much He loves us! Not only that, you look at the countenance of those that truly serve Him, His love is radiant all over their faces. Granted there are those with somewhat sour exteriors, however, they are also usually the grumblers and complainers.

A testament of the love, of the Lord Jesus

If you are new to Jesus, do not think because you are not getting what you want, that he does not hear, or that he is ignoring you or doesn’t care.

Number one, God’s word says “seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these other things will be added unto you.” it also says that in Hebrews 11:

1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

2 For by it the elders obtained a good report.

3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

4 By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.

5 By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.

Now pay special attention to verse 6 and the word diligently.

6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

7By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.

8By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went.

9By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the heirs with him of the same promise:

10For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

11Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.

Number two, you should not turn to Jesus, simply to get what you want. He responds when you turn to him, for what he died for. Your souls salvation, not to give you what you want, Jesus gives you what you need. That doesn’t mean if man does something adverse to you, that Jesus was responsible.

God gave man a free will, for those who do not understand (as I did not for a long time) why God lets bad things happen to good people or children. Remember God gave us all free will, we are all also sinners. If God were to condemn the person who kills, or commits some other heinous crime against someone. (i.e. someone who commits egregious sins), to death right away. Then He would also have to condemn the person who tells a little white lie.

Number three, if you put things in God’s hands, you cannot then be constantly fretting about it, worrying about it, and wondering in your heart if you did the right thing. This is putting things in God’s hands, with your stipulations or taking them back after having turned them over to Him. He’s smart enough to know, you never really put things in His hands at all.

Jesus is truly amazing, reliable, and caring as no one else. I am so close to Him, because I feel close to him in my heart, I know and believe for instance that Jesus, while I write this, He is right by my side, helping me with my thoughts, words, etc. If it weren’t for Him, His instruction, etc. I would not be able to write the things I do. You can ask anyone who really knows me. I’m not a man within myself, of many words, I do not talk small talk, I only speak at length when it is important. Then as you can see from some of my posts, I can be long winded. 😉 I am also not a real religious man, I do love Jesus though, I also do my best to serve Him and walk with Him.

If you decide or have decided to give Jesus a chance, know first of all, He has been giving you a chance your whole life. There is an old hymn, that is one of my favorites “He was there all the time, waiting patiently in line, He was there all the time” Jesus is the perfect gentleman, he will not force himself on you, nor will he condemn you when you fail, do wrong, etc. He will simply wait till you are done screwing up your life, and realize once again, that you need Him.

So if you give Him a chance, truly give Him one. He deals with everyone in different ways, as I said, He gives you what you need. He will also test you, your faith, your determination. However, He will not lay something on you that you are not strong enough for, at times it will seem as though He does, He knows you though, far better than you, yourself do. He also said, “he that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved.”

There’s a country song by Garth Brooks Unanswered Prayers that says. “Some of God’s greatest gifts are unanswered prayers”, because God knew when the writer asked for something from God. God knew what the future held, had God granted his prayer, he would have missed out on the truly great blessing, God had planned for him down the road.

Jesus truly holds your world in the palm of His hands, it’s up to you, what He does with it, ignores it, waits patiently for you, or helps you in your world to truly have the happiness, peace, fulfillment, and love, only He can give!

A testament of the love, of the Lord Jesus

Dedicated to the Great Lord, Darci, the only girl I ever really loved, my brother Rich, and his bride, Kathy. Please bear with me, it’s long,  it’s worth the read however, I hope.

I don’t really know how to start this one off. There are so many things in my heart I wish to express, hopefully I can do it justice.

Let me start by giving a little background, Kathy, Rich and I grew up in the same church, it is also where I first met Darci, I was 10, she was 9. I remember the first time I saw her, as clear as if it were yesterday, it was truly love at first sight. I couldn’t take my eyes off her, nor could she take hers off me. We were boyfriend-girlfriend off and on through our early-mid teens. Kathy and Rich were childhood sweethearts through their teen years, Darci, I, Rich and Kathy used to double date before I was able to drive, or at least legally.

Darci and I parted when I was about 14, Kathy and Rich when they got somewhat older. Darci married at 15, then I married at 17. I got divorced at 19, when we were in our early 20’s we got together again. We were together for a time, went our ways again. Didn’t talk again until we were in our late 20’s. She doesn’t even remember talking to me then, however the Lord had been talking to me about her for at least a year or two when she called me. I didn’t know then though, that He was talking to me about her. I was dating and breaking up with a girl, I was dating at that time. A girl by the way, who I was dating for the simple reason, she reminded me of Darci.

I won’t tell you what all I was going through at the time, it was hell, cause I couldn’t figure out what was going on, I have always analyzed everything in my life. I must add, not long before this I had even questioned the existence of Jesus. To tell a little of what I experienced, it was like I was having one conversation with one person or a superior being i.e. God, through everyone I talked to. Let me try to explain to the best of my ability, I have always had a good memory and played back in my mind every conversation I have ever had with people, in the days after the conversation(s) took place, therefore I remembered them. For a number of weeks, before I figured out the Lord was talking to me, each person, (family, friends, acquaintances) I encountered and talked to, it was like an ongoing conversation with one person. On top of that, what they said when I encountered them, it was like they were even responding to what I was thinking or had been thinking at the time. It seemed to me, at least until I understood what was going on, they all knew what was going on and I was the only one in the dark. I kept asking them, “what’s going on?” My family thought I was going insane, I must say at times it felt like it. When I realized the Lord was talking to me it hit me like a ton of bricks. I knew He was trying to get through to me on some things. However, I didn’t understand some or a lot of what He was saying at the time.

To tell you how I finally understood it was the Lord Jesus talking to me. It got to the point where I was so totally exhausted, mentally, physically, and spiritually that I could hardly even lift up my head. When I got to that point, one day my brother and I were going to help our dad on a job he was doing. We lived in California at the time, we were driving on the freeway, I was a wreck and the first time I forced myself to lift up my head, we just so happened to be going under an overpass that someone had painted graffiti on, I had seen a lot of graffiti as it is all over Southern California. However, this was not your normal gang related graffiti or someones art, this was simply where someone had painted, “Jesus Jesus Jesus Jesus” over an over, they had made two rows of His name on the side of overpass. This was all I saw when I looked up. When I saw it, the greatest and most overwhelming love washed over me, it was like nothing I had ever felt, even though I had grown up in a very religious family and loved the Lord with all my heart as a child. See, I didn’t really figure out anything, He had to show me. I was so amazed He took the time with me, when that happened and it finally dawned on me “what was going on!“.

Now back to Darci and I, I had known (to some extent at least) since our teens that she & I were meant to be together, however I could not say the right words to make her see this. I can be blunt and matter of fact, I think, knowing her now, that she thought I was arrogant or something. I just tell it like I see it, the truth, no apologies, no beating around the bush. I think I knew when we first saw each other that she was the one, I was just too young to understand it. I asked my dad when I was very young how I would know when I found the “one“, I still remember that like yesterday too, he said “You’ll just know“. I can’t even begin to put in words how I loved, and wanted more than I had ever wanted anything, just to love and be loved by her. All that being said, I did not even then understand what all it meant, because I thought I could be happy with other women, not any woman, I have always had to have a love for anyone I was with, and since I always gave 110% (at least to begin with, just being honest) in any relationship. I always thought even though there is one perfect mate for everyone, I thought I could be happy with others who I had love for. After a number of relationships and two marriages, I figured out (after studying myself and my life) I would never be truly happy with anyone else. The Lord had to incapacitate me for a number of years and leave me house bound for me to take the time to really think about what I wanted in life, to study the life I had led, and the chronological events of my life, to truly understand this.

I never tried to go after her when we parted ways, because I knew it wouldn’t do me any good, until she understood what I had known for so long. I must say I had all but given up hope, that would ever happen, more on that in a bit. Every girl I was ever with, she was the yardstick, by which they were all measured, she was the standard that they were all put up against. I was never with any girl/woman that could make me forget her, nor, that could keep me from thinking of her. They of course never knew this, nor did she, until I told her here while back.

Back to her and I in a bit, let’s talk about my brother and Kathy. I love my brother more than life, I knew for years by watching him with girls other than Kathy that he had always been, was still in love with Kathy, even though he let her marry someone else without saying a word. I knew this by the girls he had relationships with the longest, cause they reminded me of Kathy, not the looks really, more the demeanor and personalities. He never dated anyone long unless they reminded me of her.

As I alluded to earlier, I tend to analyze things, “a lot” this is how I figure things out, although it drives some of those I am closest to nuts at times. LOL! I have to say, this is how God made me. I can remember conversations, situations, etc. verbatim. I will go over things in my mind long, long after they take place, when I am trying to figure out what’s going on. And, I’m always trying to figure out something that’s going on. LOL! I was told when I was 17 by a cop, I would make a great detective. There is also a bit of discernment involved, I think some of the people on twitter have seen this with me.

I talked to Kathy about 2 years ago, I said to her then “You know, Rich has always been stuck on you”. I don’t know how long after this, that they started talking on the phone to each other, maybe they already had been. I don’t think they were talking much if any though, they did however start talking, that led to dating, dating has led to marriage. They are getting married on the 23rd of June, which happens to be my mom & dads anniversary. I must say, I never knew how romantic my brother could be. I laugh at how he is with her, not because I think it is funny, but because I love them both so much and am overjoyed for them. To understand, why I say what I do, about how romantic he is with her, you’ll have to read the blog post I did, when I first found out they were dating. The Rise and Fall of my Big Brother I can’t tell you how many times he told me he’d never get married, he hadn’t ever met a girl who was worth it. I knew better….I have never seen him more tender than he is now with her, it truly touches my heart and makes me smile.

Now my bro just reached the half century mark, Kathy’s almost there, Darci and I are in our late 40’s. I don’t know if I truly understand all of the variables involved, in what took us all so long. Kathy, I think would have married Rich when they were together in their teens, had he straightened up, been responsible, etc. I don’t know, it might only have taken him asking her. He didn’t, whatever the case, so she moved on. I know I have waited a long time to see him happy, and I have never seen him more happy, than he is now. Maybe he just needed time to truly appreciate her, maybe he just needed to understand how much he needed her. I tend to think it is more the latter. Darci, well, I would have came to her no matter where, nor what time, or who I was with, all she ever had to do was ask. I know that I failed to make her understand how much I loved her. (I don’t however know what more I could have said, obviously there is more I could have done) I feel that it also had to do with me being so wild, and not so responsible myself at some levels. My bro and I are country boys, that could have something to do with why we were so wild for so long. However, I believe that it also has to do with the fact, that neither of us had what we wanted, and/or needed most in life. I always believed Darci loved me, I therefore could never understand why she didn’t see what I did. I never troubled her over it though, I knew she had to see it for herself.

I must add at this point that all of us have had our share of bad relationships and heartache. Now, Darci and I are back together, Kathy and my bro are back together. I don’t think any of us have ever been happier. Maybe we all just needed to understand how much we needed each other, time to truly appreciate what we have. I told them all the other day when a medical matter came up for Kathy, I had texted my bro, told him that I loved him, and was thinking of him. I then called our mother, she told me about Kathy. My bro texted me back about Kathy, asked me to pray. I told him “I already was, mom had just told me. I guess that is why I was thinking of you, love you” I went on to say “the Lord would not finally put us all, where we were always meant to be, to then take away what we needed all along. Perhaps we all need to consider Him more. I know I do……”

I then said “God is good, and Jesus loves us more than we could ever dream or imagine. We are truly blessed, can you imagine after all these years, He cared enough for each of us so very much (not just us as a whole, but each of us individually) to put us each, in the situation to bring us together, after all these years of failing to do it ourselves? He is truly AWESOME, I can’t thank Him enough, nor could I ever, not just for what He has done for Darci and I, but also for you bro, and Kathy. You have no idea how many years I wished and hoped you’d wake up to what I knew so long ago, just by observing your relationships and the girls you dated the longest. I truly could not be happier for you bro, you deserve it. My happiness for you is equaled only by my own happiness for Darci and I.”

To truly understand what the Lord has done, let me point out. I am in my late 40’s, I was in my late 20’s when the Lord was telling me things about me, my future, etc. things that I am only now, understanding what He meant, and that He had been talking to me then about Darci. Not just talking to me about her, He told me things then, about what He wanted from me. Things that I have only learned since Darci and I got together at Thanksgiving of this last year, (2011) what He meant by the things, He told me then. I have this thing, like I said, I remember everything. He told me things then, that He knew I would not understand till now, some of those things, it’s amazing. The understanding, of some of those things He told me then, comes with some simple little statement she makes now, that ties in with what He told me then. When this happens, it hits me like a ton of bricks, so that is what He meant. One of those things, understanding came when I was doing her genealogy and I looked up the meaning of her name. He knew I would not understand it till I did, so He put me in the situation that caused me to get into genealogy. It was long after He had told me what He did about her in this instance, that I became interested in genealogy. Had I not gotten into genealogy a number of years ago. I would never have looked up what her name meant, as I did a few weeks ago. I can look back now, and see how He tried with us all, to get us together, straighten us out, practically our whole lives. We were all just too caught up in ourselves, I would bet all of us had all but given up on love, happiness, when He was finally able to open us all up, to what we needed to do, to get where we needed to be.

For those that think the Lord does not interfere in the affairs of men, or believe, that He does not deal with individuals. You better think again. I have learned in the last 20+ years there are no coincidences in this life, there are only things that we fail to understand their meaning. Do not ever doubt the love of God, nor Jesus. Jesus’ love surrounds us, it is in everything He created.

Honor to my Wonderful Parents, and the Lord!

My mom, who I have the deepest love, respect, and honor for. I have to credit her and the Lord for giving me what I have in my heart for the world, the people, and this country. I grew up among devout Christians, who a lot of them do not believe in getting involved in politics. Many of them probably do not even vote, it is all about their relationship with the Lord and nothing else, which is commendable I must say. They however believe that God is going to do what He has always planned and we can do nothing to affect that plan, nor should we work against that plan I guess you could say. My mom was never that way, she wanted us to also be politically aware and to take part. I also believe that we CAN do things to affect God’s plan, in that, we can do things that will cause Him to have mercy on us, the people, and the Nation. You look at Abraham, Lots family, Sodom and Gomorrah, God was just going to destroy them until Abraham intervened, and He let Abraham try to find I think it was ten righteous men or people Therefore God allows some to affect His plan, not completely but at least some aspects of it.

She also raised us to respect Nature and to care about the environment, not like environmentalists but like conservationists (as most country folk do), to have a profound respect for it. My great love for Jesus, that He has given me, truly made this connection much deeper and more meaningful, than it ever was before, because He created it all, I am in awe of His imagination, His wisdom and His love, not only for me, but for everyone. You read the difference in the mercy given before He came, and that after He came. He is truly amazing, that thru Him all this was created, The Fathers, and the Sons love for us astounds me. That they would create all of this not only for their own enjoyment, but also ours. I do not see how people fail to see that love in all things they created, you look at the detail in each flower, bug, animal, tree, bird, everything! The lowly toad even is the only creature with gold eyes, they gave all beauty of some kind, it is we who must take the time to see it. It is truly amazing, you look at the heavens, even the Hubble space shots, the beauty of the heavens, and that is only the ones we can see,  just think how much more beautiful His heaven must be. The fact that we share 99% (I think that’s the number if memory serves) of our DNA with chimps, that doesn’t make me wonder if we came from apes or chimps. What that does for me, is totally amaze, and impress upon me the wisdom that they (God and Jesus) could change one little thing and create something completely different.

As an aside, I am also not Oneness, you cannot be both the Father AND the Son. I have learned more than anything in life about truth, if it does not make sense it is not true. In Genesis, it is clear as all thru the Old Testament that He was a separate entity from God, I do not want to get into religious doctrine so I will not go into that in depth, that is for others to do. Let me just say that in Genesis He was the Light before there was the Sun, He is also the Wisdom that it speaks of in Proverbs 8, In Genesis 1:26 And God said, Let” us” make man in “our” image, after “our” likeness, It does not use a singular it uses a plural. Now for all of my Christian brothers and sisters, Bible scholars that refer back to the original Hebrew, Greek, etc. Please do not get caught up in this aside, and sidetracked from my original purpose for writing this. There is really little difference in our overall beliefs, so please do not get caught up in the small details I have used here.

While I have always loved people, my family etc. In doing genealogy like I have, it has given me a much greater depth, breadth, respect, etc. and made me feel closer to all people. I do not know how to explain it, I just know that Jesus obviously led me to get into genealogy, because I was lacking in some respects in my nature. I say this because I have always been acutely aware of myself and I have studied myself, my reactions, my feelings, my human nature as it were. I have noticed this change in me, and I have to thank the Lord for it. Everything in my life, I can see how He has worked thru these things, to make me who I am. I am by no means being boastful or anything, if it were not for Him and the people who have touched my life, I would be nothing like I am. No, I also do not think I am perfect by any means either, far from it. That is why I ask for the Lords help everyday in all things, and why I wish I had another 3 or 400 years to work on me. Contrary to popular belief, Christians do not think they are perfect, they know they are not. That is one of the reasons they are followers of Christ, they know they need assistance. I also do not think I am a christian, because I do not measure up to the standard I was raised to uphold. I hope just simply to be someday everything the Lord wishes me to be, and to help in whatever small way I can, to let Him use me in whatever capacity that He wishes to. I do pray though that I am a vessel of honor, that He can use and work through, I also pray that I might someday be worthy of the grace, He has shed on my life and that in the end, He will see in me, that which is worth saving.

I also have to say I get my love for the underdog, or those less fortunate you might say from mom. I was always friends with the underdogs, or those who were needy. I never liked people who put on airs or looked down at other people for whatever reason. I can’t stand being around people who are constantly making snide comments about the people they observe around them. I have always had a compassion for people, their pain, their needs, etc. I do not like older children picking on younger ones, etc. which is why I raised my son, to protect and stand up for those who are picked on for whatever reason.

My mom also did not want us only to be country boys, so she also exposed us to the arts, fine books, antiques, music, etc. I guess those things that people term as the finer things in life. I must also add that I was the one that caused her the most grief growing up, I have not always been the person that I am now. I have to credit Jesus for that change, I can never thank Him enough. He has made me see things that I never saw before He touched my life. My mom with help from Jesus, has also taught me more than anyone, how people can change, how to deal with different ones in different ways, because it is not what you say or do with people that effects them negatively, it is how they take it that affects them. While you can do or say one thing with one person and bring about positive results, another person who you do or say the same to, it affects them in a negative way. People are all different, and you have to pay attention to the little signals that each give off to try to perceive how you are affecting them.

I also have to credit my dad who I have the deepest respect for, in my teen years (my dad had an heating and air business) I worked for him from the time I was 12 yrs old till he went out of business in the 80’s due the the Carter economy. They took us out of public school and we started doing home study courses due to the business being 60 miles from where we lived. We worked for dad 3 days a week, and did our schoolwork on the other days. I was very young, therefore I spent many years as a helper, instead of being promoted to lead man. For you who don’t know, in construction, lead man is the one in charge of the job, the work and who is doing what work, the helper or helpers being the ones doing what the lead man tells them to do. The helpers ALWAYS get the jobs the lead man doesn’t want to do.

No it didn’t matter that I was the bosses son, as a matter of fact I had to work twice as hard as someone else to prove myself to each new lead man that I had to work under, to put it in perspective, most helpers, I mean wet behind the ears, don’t know nothing beginners. Usually for a year, they would spend as helpers. Then they would be promoted to lead men. Because I was so young, I spent 4.5 years as a helper. I wouldn’t change that either, I found later when I became a foremen over very large jobs with many different people under me. Because I had spent so many years as a helper to so many different lead men I had learned all kinds of different ways to complete the same task or job, because every lead man had his own way of wanting things done.

I learned later as I became a lead man and then a foreman over many more than one or two helpers, that this education I went thru gave me the knowledge of many different ways of doing the same thing. I therefore never insisted on the guys helping me, doing it a certain way i.e. my way, because I learned from helping all those lead men where they insisted on the helper doing it their way, because they had learned thru their experience that it was the fastest way for them.

However, I also learned that different ways were faster for different people. No one way was the fastest for any 2 people. I therefore, when I had a new guy I was teaching, I would present him with many different ways to accomplish the same task and let him figure out which one was the best for him. I also NEVER ever asked them to do something I didn’t do with them or wasn’t willing to do myself. I also learned by helping all those different lead men, because most of them had less experience than I did, I learned that you never knew so much that you couldn’t learn something new.

I therefore never looked down on those I taught, nor did I ever think that I could not learn something from the least experienced person under me.

I have also learned from my dad how to treat women, how special they are, and to truly love with my all that one special one. My dad has the greatest love and respect for my mother, their is nothing that he would not do for her. I have watched them in their relationship from the time I became aware of girls and how wonderfully different they are. I must say I was quite young when this happened. I was never one of those little boys who thought they were yuck and wanted nothing to do with them. I also asked him when I was younger, how I would know when the right one came along. I have never forgotten his answer. I also have to credit him, with my quiet thoughtful side, I take after him in many ways. My mom and dad are the greatest, I love, respect greatly and hope I honor them in all things. I don’t think I could love two people more!

I could go on and on about the ways my mom, dad, and the Lord have effected me to make me the person I am today. I could never thank any one of them enough in a million years for what they have given me. I also have a profound love for each and everyone who has touched my heart along the way, who have helped me n so many different ways that it would take me a lifetime to tell.

I may add more, I am trying to not make my blog posts too long as I do not want to boar people.

God’s Blessings on America, Be Thankful, and It is because of all of you!

Why you may ask do I love America? Why you may ask, do I thank God, that he and his Son set aside a place in the world, that became this great nation, that would become known as America?

This America, that would be the light of freedom and liberty the world over? Not only, would this America become a beacon of freedom and hope the world over, as no other nation in the history of man! It would also become the most prosperous nation that had ever been, being also a beacon of prosperity and goodness the world over. Why do you think that God has allowed this nation to prosper in all of these things? Why is it, that America is always the first to respond, anywhere the world over when disaster hits? Why is it that Americans are the most giving, most charitable people of anywhere in the world?

First, and foremost of all, it is because of the principles of Jesus Christ, that founded this great nation. This nation that we, and so many around the world love! It is because of those principles that allowed, nay, not allowed, but commanded that our Framers set forth the selfsame principles they had learned in the Bible!

The principles of freedom, justice, equality, personal rights and responsibilities, pursuit of happiness, co-equal branches of government, 3 to be exact, they believed in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost. They set forth, these selfsame principles in the documents that became our Constitution, and our Bill of Rights. Never before, in the history of man had any other nation set forth on this path, nor made the choices, that brought about this nation, we all love! This path, that would lead millions of people to the shores of this great land, many dying in their attempts to come to the beacon of hope for mankind, that is America!

The bible taught that Jesus set the captives free! The bible taught, that God is not a respecter of persons. The bible taught, that we are to be blessed, the definition of blessed is to be happy! I challenge you to find me a more truly happy person, than anyone who truly lives a Christian life. I have known many Christians, many different kinds of Christians, I have known every other kind of person in my life, and none are as genuinely happy as those, that truly walk with Jesus, all the time. No, I am not one of those, I am working towards that goal.

Why in all the world, is this the place, where all people, of all nationalities, creeds and beliefs come to be free? Why in all the world, is this the place, that draws those people seeking that freedom to come? It is because God so loved the world, not part of the world, but all of the world. Why would He, if He were not involved in the daily struggles of man, why would He, give His only Son as a sacrifice, as an example, as an inspiration, as a Saviour to the world? Why would He, if He, who is so great, did not care about the daily struggles of man?

Why you may ask do I, like He, love America? He has shown that love, by shedding His blessings on her. In doing so, He has allowed America to prosper in such a way, that another principle from the bible became fulfilled, in that city that is set on the hill, that beacon of light and freedom that is America, to become a reality. The bible speaks of you prospering even as your soul prospers.

In setting forth these principles it allowed America to be that great city, because He loved not only America, not only Israel, but also all the world! Why did He do this you may ask?  Perhaps I can answer, in why do I love America? Why do I now fight to get us back, to those selfsame principles, that has allowed God to bless us, and the world thru us, so greatly? Why do I struggle, to also put forth, these principles in the things I write? Why do I do these things? Why should I care? Why do I pour out my passion and my heart in the things I write?

It is because of all of you. It is because I, like He, truly care about everyone of you! Not only do I care about all of you America, it is because of all of you, wherever you are. You who are genuinely sweet, good and kind individuals. You who have touched my heart so deeply, and so genuinely so many times. In so many different ways, in so many different places. It is because of our brave men and women in uniform, and the honor and dignity they show.

To all Military members, their families, both past and present!

So why do I fight for conservative principles? It is because those principles come from the bible, but not only that, it is because conservatives, as we know them today in America, have proven with, not only their words, but from their actions, that they are truly the most caring, charitable people on the face of the planet. With their giving, with their time, with their hearts. Where do people come in the world for freedom? Where do people come in the world, to market their products? Where do freedom loving people, the world over turn? To you America, to you.

What therefore is the answer to all of these questions? It is because of all of you.

My experience with Social Media and background

I grew up in what people call a very religious family. I grew up without a television, by the time I was 12, I had read more books than most people will in their lifetimes.  There is not a Utopia on this earth, nor will there ever be, especially one created by man! Even the Garden of Eden was not a Utopia, as the leftist like to think they could create, especially with their views on Jesus, Adam and Eve i.e. humanity brought in sin. Where there are humans with their free will and sin, there will never be paradise. By the way, living together as man and wife without being married, used to be called “Original Sin”. As my mother has always said “It was not, the apple in the tree, it was the green pair [Adam & Eve] on the ground.”

I did not start out on social media to do what I have ended up doing, since being here. See, for those who have not known me since I first started on these Social networking sites, I actually only got on here, to be able to check out the Harrison J Bounel page when WND wrote about it , on June 10th, this year.

I was not planning on being active on here, but I have been burning up, for so long about the condition of America, I cannot help but say so, I also have a problem, If I have something to say, and it is not a friend, who I do not want to offend or something, a lot of times even then, I do, sorry, I say it!,,;) I cannot HELP speaking my heart and mind, so I therefore created my 2nd FB profile, as I told my friends then, if I am going to be on a leftist orgs site, I am going to at least, get some advertising out of it. I started Familytrees Genealogy that is the one, the leftist’s had me blocked from posting publicly, while I AM VERY SLOW to ANGER, that anger now lies just beneath the surface, and when I hear something else about the establishment, or leftist screwing around Tea Party people, or whatever else, it causes that volcano that has built up in me to explode again, I actually put all this socialist nazi, marxis stuff together in July,Who are the Nazis in America?, I did this on the TreesDude InVictory FB page, I began when Harrison J Bounel contacted me, and told me I could start another profile called “TreesDude”, so everyone would know who I was, just by providing a different email address.

I then worked from that one until the McCain said what he did on the Senate floor, about tea party people being Hobbits, so I started Proud Hobbit page as a jab in his, and other RINOS eyes,,

I have now dedicated the Familytrees Genealogy page to just what I started it for, to get some business, now I do not have time for that, but that is okay, because I am now doing something much more important!

I have also dedicated the TreesDude InVictory page to history of evil in world as it applies to the Muslims, leftist etc, agenda. I also have 2 other pages one for Naval history and one for Revolution and American history.

I then got on twitter, simply for the tea party debate, simply as I told friends at that time, because I wanted to show support for them, because I did not want to get on twitter either. Now I see that the Lord must have been in it all, because of the way it has built so quickly, I had even told my mom last year that I was thinking about starting a blog simply for my religious views, because I had some things to say about that, I wanted to see if people would listen. I never meant to go into both my religious AND political views. Now, I know I put out mainly political stuff, however that is where the Lord is using me now. I cannot do anything other, than what he allows me to do, or puts in my heart to do, or say, that however is how come I post both religious, or at least stuff about Jesus and God as it relates to this country. I am history “His story” and America is HIS STORY, YOU CANNOT SEPARATE THE TWO! So therefore I am sorry if you do not like my views on God and His blessed Son, intermixed with my stuff, that is who I am, that is who America is, get over it, God bless you all, and thank all of you, who are my Patriot friends! You really do touch my heart, ALL of you, you have no idea!

So you all want to know about me? stick around as you can ALL see, I do not hold things back! BTW, Jesus got angry too!!!

The shape of things is very simple to me, I see things as they are, there are no grey areas. I am generous with those I care for, sometimes overwhelming so. If I like someone I cannot do enough for them. I find it hard to let people do more for me than I do for them. I am honest to a fault, open and direct! At times my honesty makes me seem as if I am boastful, other times a jerk! I do not like head games, the only games I play are fun! I do not try to hide who I am, what I am about, nor what I think and believe! If I like you, you will know it, if I dislike you, you will most likely know that too. I do not try to hide my feelings! What you see is what you get with me, my views on things are based on my life, my experiences, my observations. I do not talk a lot, but when  I do, it is on something that I have thought on long and hard. I mainly only talk when I have something to say, that I feel is important for me to say! When I make a promise to someone I take that very seriously, if I tell you I will do something, you can bet I will do my best to accomplish it!

My mom has always told me I am too trusting,,and volunteer way to much info, I am not near as trusting as I used to be, however, I do not know if I will EVER, be able to not speak my heart! That is WHO I AM!

That is one thing about me, If I give you a compliment or something, it is because I MEAN IT!!! I have ALWAYS been that way, I do not speak idle words! As with speaking or writing, I also try to always listen with my heart also, especially if I am listening to someone I care greatly for. I’m really not a BIG small talk person either,,when I talk to people it is because I want to KNOW them, not just to talk! When I talk to someone, I think about what was said long afterward. If I do something or someone wrong, I am humble enough to admit it! I hate hurting those I care for, if I do, I do not mean to, and it hurts me usually long after they have gotten over it. I take friendship very seriously.

Sometimes I am so caught up in my own thoughts, etc. I miss those little things from people that mean so much to them, whether it be those subtle signals that they need something from me, or whether it be something I may think small or insignificant, yet means so much to them. I try very hard to be in tune to the feelings of those I care or and am close to, however, sometimes I fail miserably. When I hurt someone it is usually deeply, I’m sorry, I do not mean to. With my enemies I am cruel at times, sometimes I can also be to others. With my enemies, I do not care, with my friends it kills me.

Although I do give people a hard time sometimes and say something off the wall, it is just because I am ornery that way, and I like to make people think!!! If I like you, you can bet I will give you a hard time, however it is always out of affection.

One more thing, even my humor, is based on some element of the truth!

I also never served in the military for those who mistakenly think so by my username. As I said I never meant to socialize on social media and since I do / did genealogy I used my first great grandfathers name who came to America on my fathers side in 1607. When I went to join the Navy or Air Force when I was 18, I couldn’t pass the physical do to my back being broken when I was a child.

Hopefully I have found my niche to be of service to my country by helping to educate others to the greatness of America, her many blessings and reasons for those blessings, thereby helping to stir the flame of patriotism in both young and old.

My mission here is to defeat the lies spewed by the left in America and those who hate U.S. by providing you with the truth on many subjects from history to the present, especially the truth of the Founding  Fathers, who they were, what they thought and represented, and what was behind the foundations and founding of these United States of America. I especially hate the lies and revisionist history taught in our present age about America, her founding, and the people who God used to put in place the foundation stones of this great nation. The land of the free and home of the brave, because of the brave men who gave their lives to create and sustain the last great hope, God gave to mankind.

I like listening to my friends also, I know there are all your walls, etc. However there are not enough hours in the day for all the things a man needs to do, and tomorrow only adds more to those things.

Another friends comment: I’m just an immigrants child – mostly. My mothers family goes back to Louis Joliet . Still, French Canadian. Still, Americans. My dad is a purple heart WW II vet. 1st gen Swedish.

My comment back: I have many Patriots who came later,,being Patriotic is not simply dependent on your ancestry. I will also say it is more based on your heritage!! Heritage = how you were brought up,what the people felt, believed, etc. that you come from, no matter how many generations they go back!

The Rise and Fall of my Big Brother

Very funny story about my big brother, he is one of those kind of people, nothing bothers, everything, it’s like water off a ducks back, with him. Now where I am very slow to anger and the fire in me burns long, slow and builds over time. He will get angry in a flash, but once he vents, he’s over it.

He’s one of those that used to get angry, pick up his bike, throw it down, jump up and down on it when the chain came off or something. Me, I couldn’t understand that because it messed up the bike more, and only caused him more work, but once he blows up, blows off the steam it’s over, or when people say stuff about him, he don’t care, it’s water off a ducks back,,,

However, my bro never got over his childhood sweetheart. He’d never admit it, but I know my brother well, and people in general. He never married, nothing, Well after two marriages of hers, they got back together a few months ago. I saw them at the burial of my Uncles ashes today. LOL it’s like they were when they were teenagers, My brother who professes to hate the mushy romantic stuff, they are acting like they did when we were teenagers.

Very funny to me, if you only knew my bro.you’d understand! Of course I love my bro. with all my heart and I couldn’t be happier for them, but it does make me laugh!

He always said how he was never gonna get married cause he couldn’t or didn’t want to put up with the various issues of marriage. I knew it was cause he never got over her. LOL!! cracks me up!

He didn’t put the issues of marriage exactly, like I did either, what he said was something to the effect, he never met a woman that he could put up with, something along those lines. It is SOOO funny!

I get such a laugh out of it knowing him like I do, he never fooled me. I knew why he never got married, or had lasting relationships. I can’t tell you all how much I love and treasure my bro, he’s the best!

Anyway this is a post dedicated to him, them and their future happiness,,,Love you bro., hope it all works out for you both!

CENSORSHIP FACEBOOK HEADS UP!! SUGGESTION 4 EVERYONE ON FB!! VERY IMPORTANT!!!!!!!

I am, or was “Proud Hobbit” on Facebook, until Facebook contacted me yesterday i.e. Thurs/Fri. telling me that I wasn’t using my “real name” and that my account was suspended until I provided my real name, and updated my Facebook account using it. The censorship has begun, I would therefore suggest the following. This is the second time I have been censored on Facebook! After I changed the name, because I frequently refresh screen, one of the first times I did this, after they made me change my name. I got a Facebook notification that my account was temporarily unavailable, to try again in a few minutes. I waited, refreshed again, it took me to Run, Sarah, Run! Sarah Palin 2012 which I have listed on page as my employer.  (Facebook now referred to as FB)

If you are on FB do the following!

Open up Wordpad or Notepad, while still on your FB page,,after Wordpad/Notepad opens,,,,,,go to the page that lists your FB friends, i.e. click the link to left side of your FB page that says Friends,,,after your friends page is open,,,,highlight the name of your first friend like you would when you highlight something you wish to copy and paste,,,,after it is highlighted,,,,scroll down the page,,,,,keep scrolling until you reach the end of your lists of friends,,,,,,hold down shift key,,,,click to the right side of last name,,,,,all names should then be highlighted,,,,,hit ctrl + C,,to copy,,,,go to Wordpad/Notepad,,,click in document window so that you can type in the document,,,,,,hit ctrl + V to paste ,,,,,walla!!! you now have a list of all your FB friends,,,,,update frequently using same method,,

I would also suggest you exchange emails or go to each others FB pages and get the email info off each one,,,if you are like me, though,,none of your FB pages contains your main email address,,,therefore you should contact each friend and get their main email address.

I don’t mean web-based email like hotmail,,gmail,,,etc..I mean the email at your Internet service provider,,they can censure you just as easily on the web-based email providers as they can on facebook. I also have a friend that used the name “TheObama Hustle” that had his FB page deleted, no warning nothing. They said he was using a celebrity name. UPDATE: I am slow to anger, but when that anger comes, it is not something that goes away easily, and it only makes me more determined. I am going to keep a track of my Facebook posts to my James Davis (Proud Hobbit) wall, for you to follow and for my own purposes, records, etc.

Where it started was actually with my first facebook account, FamilyTrees Genealogy. During the debt debate, I would get on Speaker John Boehners FB page. Some leftist trolls got on his page, they were making all kinds of comments attacking him, spreading lies, disinformation, and generally tying up the comments with their banter back and forth, dwarfing all the legitimate comments, from concerned citizens. I watched them do this for two days until I got tired of it. I then started posting links to facts on the net, responding to their comments and arguments. I posted quotes from their supposed hero Thomas Jefferson that refuted, or put into context quotes they were using from him. They didn’t like that, so they started using one of the another Founder,, and put after his name “non-slave owner” I then started using the same founder and put same “non-slave owner” like they did. They then went to Reagan, I refused to argue with them, I just kept posting facts with links to those facts. They then went to Jesus, I knew more than they did on that subject too. They then started calling me names, again I did not stoop to their level, I just kept posting facts. They could not defeat me, so they told FB I was spamming so that FB blocked me from posting publicly. I then got contacted by a friend to start another FB account. Now it has just gone on from there. Follow timeline of my FB page posts to see what happened.

A monument to Old Drum was erected on December 12, 1947, by Fred
Ford of Blue Springs, Missouri. Ford placed the monument on the
banks of Big Creek approximately where Old Drum was found after he
had been shot.
Ford received donations of money and rocks from all over the world to
create the monument. The sixty-seven block base of the monument
consisted of small rocks placed in cement blocks labeled with metal
donor name plates. Dog lovers sent stones from the Great Wall of
China, Mexico, the West Indies, South Africa, Germany, Guatemala,
France, the White Cliffs of Dover, Jamaica, and most of the states in
the U.S. Unfortunately, due to vandalism in later years, the original
base no longer exists.
The part of the original monument that still remains was constructed by
the Indianola Memorial Works at Indianola, Iowa, using gray granite
stone. The monument is illustrated with a dog treeing a coon in the
middle, a fox in one corner, and a deer being chased in the other. It
contains the inscription: Killed, Old Drum, 1869. It remains a symbol of
all dogs that people have loved and lost.

Today a monument to Old Drum stands in Warrensburg, Missouri,
along with the words of Vest’s eulogy. On September 23, 1958,
through the coordinated efforts of the Warrensburg Chamber of
Commerce and dog lovers from around the country, Old Drum was
immortalized in statue by the sculptor, Reno Gastaldi.
On the southeast corner of the current Johnson County Courthouse
lawn, stands a bronze statue of the much beloved black and tan hound,
Old Drum. The sculpture is of a hunting dog standing on all fours, with
tail lowered and head up. On the front of the trapezoid concrete base
on a plaque in raised letters, appear Vest’s well-known words which

The story of the Burden v. Hornsby trial, involving the untimely death of a black
and tan hound dog named Old Drum, comprises people and events that have
become more legend than fact. Yet, the Burden v. Hornsby trial, or the Old
Drum trial as it came to be known, is a true story well-documented through
court records progressing from a Justice of the Peace to a final appeal before
the Supreme Court of Missouri.
The Story of Burden v. Hornsby
The Death of Old Drum
On the 28th of October in 1869, around 8 o’clock in the evening, Charles
Burden heard the fire of a gun from the direction of his neighbor’s adjoining
farm only a mile south.
His brother-in-law, Leonidas Hornsby, owned the adjoining farm about five
miles southwest of Kingsville in Johnson County Missouri. It was only four
years after the Civil War and farming was beginning to return to the war-torn
western counties of Missouri. Lands once plundered by guerillas and raiders
now began to support families attempting to farm and raise livestock.
Leonidas Hornsby was doing his best to farm, but was struggling to maintain
his flock of sheep because of the constant threat of prowling dogs and wolves.
He had lost more than a hundred sheep and made a vow to kill the first stray
dog that appeared on his property. On the evening of October 28, Leonidas
made good on his promise after a hound dog wandered into his yard.
Samuel “Dick” Ferguson, Hornsby’s young nephew, immediately proposed to
shoot the intruder. Thinking it might be a neighbor’s dog and in an effort not to
kill the dog, but merely scare it, Hornsby instructed Ferguson to load the gun
with corn and then take the shot. According to Ferguson, after the dog was
shot it yelped in pain, jumped over the fence, and disappeared.
Neighbors heard the howling of the wounded dog as it grew fainter and then
finally died away. Charles Burden also noted the silence following the sound of
the gunshot. He remembered Hornsby’s threat and feared the worst. He called
his dogs, but his favorite hunting dog, Old Drum, did not come.
After Old Drum failed to come home the next morning, Charles Burden began
the search for his missing dog. First, he went to his neighbor Hurley and inquired about Old Drum’s whereabouts. Then, he went to the farm of Leonidas Hornsby and began to question him. After Hornsby denied having seen Old Drum, Burden asked, “What dog was that you shot last night?”
Hornsby replied that he had not shot any dog, but that his nephew Dick had
shot at a dog he thought belonged to their neighbor, Davenport.
Unconvinced and angry, Burden replied, “I’ll go and see it may not be my dog.
If it ain’t it’s all right. If it is it’s all wrong and I’ll have satisfaction at the cost of
my life.” He then left his brother-in-law’s property to continue the search.
On that same morning of October 29, Burden, along with a neighbor, found Old
Drum dead lying with his head in the water on the banks of Big Creek just
below Haymaker’s Mill. He appeared to have died from multiple shots of
different sizes with no hole completely penetrating the body. It was apparent to
Charles Burden that Old Drum had been carried or dragged to his final resting
place along the banks of the river. There was mud on Old Drum’s left side, the
fur on his ear and side were roughed up the wrong way, and evidence of sorrel
horse hairs were on his body. Coincidentally, Leonidas Hornsby owned a
sorrel mule. To Burden, the circumstantial evidence was overwhelming.
The Burden v. Hornsby Trial
Unable to let the death of his prized hound dog go unpunished, Burden filed a
lawsuit for damages against Hornsby. A summons was issued to Leonidas
Hornsby to appear before Justice of the Peace Munroe of Madison township on
November 25, 1869. Burden originally asked for a $100 judgment in damages.
Hornsby’s attorneys, Nation and Allen, filed a motion to dismiss because the
amount sued for was beyond the jurisdiction of the Justice of the Peace.
However, Burden was allowed to file a motion to amend, changing the amount
to the legal limit allowable of $50 for the worth of Old Drum, and the trial
proceeded.

The jury was not able to agree on whether Hornsby was guilty for instructing his
nephew to shoot the dog. The trial was rescheduled for December 23, 1870,
but was continued until January. In this second trial on January 27, 1870, a
verdict of guilty was returned and Burden was awarded $25 plus court costs.

Hornsby appealed the case to the Johnson County Court of Common Pleas in
Warrensburg. He claimed that amendment of the original statement to bring
the case before the Justice of the Peace should not have been allowed. New
lawyers were hired, with Thomas T. Crittenden and Francis M. Cockrell now
representing Hornsby and George N. Elliott and Wells H. Blodgett representing
Burden. The trial date was set for March 25, but later moved to March 30.

According to their testimony, Hornsby and Ferguson went back to Big Creek,
where the body of Old Drum still lay, and removed lead bullets after the
January trial at Kingsville. Because the burden of proof could not be
established, there was doubt as to whether Hornsby was directly the cause of
Old Drum’s death. On April 1, 1870, Hornsby received a verdict in his favor in the amount of court costs.
Dissatisfied and still seeking justice for his dead dog, Burden filed a motion for
a new trial alleging the discovery of evidence not available before. A new trial
was granted and Burden hired the Sedalia legal team of John F. Philips and
George G. Vest. A formidable group of attorneys now sat on both sides of the
table.
On September 21, 1870, in what is now known as the Old Johnson County
Courthouse in Warrensburg, the case went to trial for the fourth time. As the
court convened, Judge Foster Wright looked out on a packed courtroom and
four prominent lawyers destined to become known as Missouri’s Big Four.
Hornsby was represented by the firm of Crittenden & Cockrell, with Philips &
Vest now joining Elliott & Blodgett for Burden.

Arguments were made by both sets of attorneys. Depositions from witnesses
now out of state in Kansas and Texas were read in evidence. The defense
tried to show that Old Drum was sighted at Haymaker’s Mill and shot there
around the same time a different dog was shot at Hornsby’s farm. Hornsby
admitted to telling his nephew to shoot at a dog, but denied the dog was Old
Drum, even though no other dog was found dead.
On September 23, 1870, Vest presented the closing remarks on behalf of
Burden and Old Drum. However, he made no reference to the evidence or to
Old Drum, but delivered a powerful tribute to all dogs and their masters.
Following his summation, the jury quickly returned a verdict in favor of Burden
in the amount of $50 and court costs. Even though Vest’s Eulogy of the Dog
was not written down until some time after the trial, the speech became famous
because of its universal appeal to dog lovers everywhere. Eulogy of the Dog

After the war he returned to Pettis County moving to Sedalia,
Missouri and resumed his law practice. It was at this time in
1869 that Vest was asked to represent Burden and Old Drum
in the case that would make him famous.
Vest took the case tried on September 23, 1870 in which he
represented a client whose hunting dog, a foxhound named
Drum (or Old Drum), had been killed by a sheep farmer. The
farmer had previously announced his intentions to kill any dog
found on his property; the dog’s owner was suing for damages
in the amount of $50, the maximum allowed by law.
During the trial, Vest stated that he would “win the case or
apologize to every dog in Missouri.” Vest’s closing argument
to the jury made no reference to any of the testimony offered during the trial, and instead offered a eulogy of sorts. Vest’s “Eulogy of the Dog” is one of the most enduring passages of
purple prose in American courtroom history (only a partial
transcript has survived):

“Gentlemen of the jury: The best friend a man has in this world may turn against him and become his enemy. His son or daughter that he has reared with loving care may prove ungrateful. Those who are nearest and dearest to us, those whom we trust with our happiness and our good name, may become traitors to their faith. The money that a man has, he may lose. It flies away from him, perhaps when he needs it the most. A man’s reputation may be sacrificed in a moment of ill considered action. The people who are prone to fall on their knees to do us honor when success is with us may be the first to throw the stone of malice when failure settles its cloud upon our heads. The one absolutely unselfish friend that a man can have in this selfish world, the one that never deserts him and the one that never proves ungrateful or treacherous is his dog. Gentlemen of the jury: A man’s dog stands by him in prosperity and in poverty, in health and in sickness. He will sleep on the cold ground, where the wintry winds blow and the snow drives fiercely, if only he may be near his master’s side. He will kiss the hand that has no food to offer, he will lick the wounds and sores that come in encounters with the roughness of the world. He guards the sleep of his pauper master as if he were a prince. When all other friends desert, he remains. When riches take wings and reputation falls to pieces, he is as constant in his love as the sun in its journey through the heavens. If fortune drives the master forth an outcast in the world, friendless and homeless, the faithful dog asks no higher privilege than that of accompanying him to guard against danger, to fight against his enemies, and when the last scene of all comes, and death takes the master in its embrace and his body is laid away in the cold ground, no matter if all other friends pursue their way, there by his graveside will the noble dog be found, his head between his paws, his eyes sad but open in alert watchfulness, faithful and true even to death”

The litigation continued with Hornsby appealing the decision to the Missouri
Supreme Court. Hornsby’s attorneys claimed the judgment should be reversed
because the Justice of the Peace allowed the original statement to be amended
from $100 to $50 and the Court of Common Pleas granted Burden a new trial.
During the July 1872 term, the judgment was affirmed by the Missouri Supreme
Court. Charles Burden finally had justice for Old Drum.

Some other funny stories

My son doesn’t like me telling these 😉 He still laughs about it though, very good kid, love him with all my heart!

Another funny story, when my son was 4, my brother and I were working on a car in my front drive in Cal. my brother had a big screwdriver about 2-3 ft long, we had a big tree in the front yard, my son was hitting the tree with the screwdriver. I told him he shouldn’t be hitting the tree with the screwdriver cause he was hurting it. My son being sweet like I was when I was his age, I told him to hug the tree, tell it that he was sorry. He did, I told my brother “gives new meaning to the term tree hugger, huh?” 😉

Another time we were out of state staying in a motel. He was always hassling me about going to the pool and going swimming. I was working late one night and since there was a bright light just outside the window in our room, you could not tell if it was actually dark or not outside without pulling back the curtain. About 1am I got a bright idea. I woke him up and asked him if he wanted to go swimming he was sleeping the day away and it was 1 o’clock. He fell for it, you can figure out the rest.

A little more about my son, this is one of the AMAZING things about the Lord, he is not my biological son, he is just as much or more like me though than a biological son. He is actually my ex’s, sisters boy, her sister was on drugs really bad, gave him mainly sugar water when he was a baby, so much so that his skin was actually gray when we got him. He had medical issues that we had to get taken care of, because of his mothers drug use. Eye operated on among other things, I won’t go into the long story about why he is with me instead of my exe, I’ll just say he prefers it that way, I love him, I am his father, and he doesn’t care if he ever sees my exe again.

P.S. another thing about adoption and the way the Lord works, doing genealogy I have met many cousins thru doing it. One that was in Okla., looking up some records here about 2-3 weeks ago, came by to meet me, mom, grandma etc., His last name was Bell, just thru adoption though, he was born a Reynolds. I have an Uncle who is a Bell, my cousin I just met looks so much like my uncle they could be brothers. He and his sister were both adopted into the same family, then they had a sibling who was the biological child of the parents, he and his adopted sister look more like the parents than the biological child does.
